He should whore out his wife and earn the money to pay off the damages.

Patrick Thompson, defending, said the offence came at a time when the defendant was under "great personal strain" and he was "near bankrupt".

I'm broke, so let me have my wedding reception at at castle. Sounds about right

And he is still released on bail? Seriously? He could have killed all of his drunk friends and family (paraphrasing from the article).

Sounds like an episode of "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding".

Well why do you think he was nearly bankrupt?

Not discussing financial situations with fiance before getting married. Sounds about right.

I meant to start the fire in the castle, but I didn't mean for it to cause property damage. WTF?

I wish I could attend a drama-filled wedding at least once. The only time I've even come close it the second date I ever had with my husband we attended a wedding for his friends. His ex-girlfriend was there (broken up for a year and she was dating someone else mind you) and glared at me the whole wedding. When my husband finally had enough and wanted to leave the ex told the bride I hated her and was making my husband leave by force and to kick me out. The bride didn't, we left, and all had dinner a few weeks later (no ex though), cleared up the situation, and laughed about it.

Sounds like someone confused 'fairytale wedding in a castle' with 'Viking funeral' again...

Cool story, sis, but be careful what you wish for. Got drenched with beer when I happened to get in the middle of a dispute at a wedding reception some years ago. I'm sure it was great theatre for those observing from a distance, but I didn't have the luxury unfortunately. Also sprained my wrist when restraining one of the combatants.

Wow, my mother never let my father forget his rugby teammates behavior at their wedding reception, but even those guys never resorted to arson.

I've missed attending any drama filled weddings. The drama always seems to happen later in the marriages, mostly right before the ugly divorce.

And now I'm too old to be invited to weddings- all my friends are happily married or happily divorced.

But in a few years, young neices and nephews will be getting married, and I'm looking forward to a second chance at some excitement.

The only drama filled wedding I ever went to was a dry religious one actually. (Thankfully, my friends and I had a hotel room party with booze later)

Funny thing was, it was all the men that we're causing the drama!!!

See, it was the wedding of my bf's old high school friend, Matt. Now, what caused the drama was that Matt didn't include his best friend Don in the wedding party, because he was working 2 jobs, and one of them was driving escorts and being a bodyguard for them, which is "immoral". Matt also kinda avoided him the whole night and was acting a little like a douche.

Now, my bf is kinda protective of Don (he had a bad life, his Mom's kinda nutty) and got really angry about this and almost stormed off. Thankfully, my bf had the tact to confront him privately about it. While Matt never apologized, he at least stopped acting like a douche.

Moral of the story kids: ALWAYS HAVE BOOZE AT YOUR WEDDING.
