Mitt Romney, for no adequately explainable reason, wants to be president. It's not for the money, it's not to help his countrymen, it's just so he can smile and say that he's President. Waste of time and a waste of man.

Newt hasn't been in office for over a decade. He's been just a grifter ever since.

thats a great point. newts been running for what? the better part of a decade? and i still have no idea why he wants to be president other than "because its there." And while thats a great reason to climb mt. everest, its not cutting for "why i want to be president"

Mitt has been running for President for a long time but when it comes to actual office holding...

Gingrich 20 years

Romney 4 years

Romney isn't quite lifelong. There was a short time when, despite being born with a gold spoon in his mouth, he decided to take his fortune and use it to destroy jobs, manufacturing and infrastructure by being a corporate raider. So, in this sense Romney made money by being a net job destroyer.

Newt, on the other hand, has always been a sociopath for hire. When he realized there was more money to be made on the R side of things he switched immediately.

So, Mitt claims Newt is too experienced?
Why can't we have life-long statesmen run for office instead?

Vulture capitalist vs. professional wingnut welfare recipient

Whoever wins, we lose. (And Obama wins.)

But Newt told me he was a Washington outsider!

All of those Republicans who decry Washington insiders and career politicians are flocking to Newt.

Poor Willard, this must be killing him.

We should also remember he unsuccesfully ran for the US Senate as well. Being able to call yourself a "Washington Outsider" is one of the perks of not being able to win elections.

Reminds me of George Bush Senior. Bush Senior wanted to be President so he could live in a fancy house and play tennis on his own court and hobnob with world leaders. This made him mostly benign, especially compared to his son.

The first qualification required of a Presidential candidate, IMHO, is to have previously won a state-wide election. A shockingly large number of the Republican candidates (Newt, Bachmann, Cain, Paul) are disqualified for this reason alone.
