From reading some article about it (or rather: the outcome of the court case since the robbery happened in May), the bank sign was still on the building because the bank still had a room with ATMs there.

I think I know places like this:
before you enter the "real" bank with its counters, desks and offices, you usually have to go through a foyer with ATMs and similar stuff. The room with the ATMs stays open 24/7, they just lock down (glass) doors, shutters, movable walls or whatever else they have installed to separate the foyer from the office space.

Pretty easy to see how a bank can close shop there, rent its former office space to someone else and still operate the foyer with the ATMs and keep the big sign above the door.
