Well, that wasn't the obvious result that came to my mind, but feel free to go with it.

She is suing for a failure to protect her from harassment. Simply from what the article says, counselors did nothing to attempt to intervene when this was brought to their attention. While the school suggests the formal complaint was not filled, some paperwork should be available about her interactions with counselors, and the counselors should have directed her to file the complaint. Any acknowledgement of the incidents by the school would be rather damning because most American schools require reporting and certain procedures in order to protect themselves.

Of course, one side from a lawsuit so some specifics are lacking.

Well since he sent her nude pics to everyone he should have gotten in trouble for distributing child porn, as she should have for giving them to him in the first place. So when she was 14 she could have just cut out the useless school admins and gone straight to the cops.

It's all very obvious. itsfullofstars has just returned from the future where, during the pretrial investigation, the cyberpolice backtraced this girls image and found it on Mitt Romney's computer. Consequences were never the same.
