That gave me a mental image I really didn't need.

The fact that he can't even answer "What's the last book you read?" without regurgitating the same line from 6 months ago shows what a inhuman, strange, weird, politically pre programmed talkingpoint robot Mitt is. That's why he's never as strong of a candidate in real life as he is on paper. He makes 2000 Al Gore look like Bill Murray.

It does, doesn't it? Next we'll have a Farker entitled Mitt Romney's Poop Stained Replicock".

Wow. Mitt Romney is really both a duplicitous weasel and blubbering pussy.

If he has little tantrums like this during a friendly, but mostly meaningless, fox news interview, I can't imagine what he would be like when the chips are down and the opponents are hostile. I used to think "Romney isn't great, but he wouldn't be a total disaster." Now I think he's just like all the other Republican primary candidates this year -- he could probably run a third-rate pizza company or a vulture capitalist firm. But he has no business trying to run a country.

It's know it's bad form to reply to myself, but I want to go on record and say that I don't actually believe Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum, or Rick Perry could run a child's lemonade stand, much less a vulture capitalist firm.

Not defending Romney but I wish as a politician that changing one's mind wouldn't be such a big freakin deal... I mean who wants a stubborn a-hole for a leader that gets an idea in their head and runs with it no matter what the cost is?

I pretty much agree. If you don't adapt your opinions when greeted with new evidence, then there is something wrong. My problem with Mittens is that he won't just say that. He keeps saying that you won't find a more consistent candidate in the field. Which is a complete lie and a bit upsetting, really.

There's a difference between changing your mind because of new evidence or a genuine philosophical shift. Romney comes across as changing his mind whenever the wind blows in a new direction, and then denies he changed anything.

Just watching this, it seems like what happened is that he said that the health care model in Massachusetts was going to spread across the country, but he meant it in terms of states being able to choose their own plan even if it is outside of the norm, as opposed to the specifics of the health plan itself being spread across the country like "Obamacare" is. So now a quote about him saying basically "I support states rights" is being run against him as "I love socialism." It's annoying because it's not a real reason to dislike him, it's just a stupid, meaningless talking point.

On the other hand though, fark that guy.

I am happy that he is able to change his mind. I am unhappy that he is a simpering, defensive, whiny little pussy when asked to explain why he changed his mind during a friendly interview.

He's interviewing for a job as President of the United States, and he's displaying an attitude that would immediately disqualify him from any job with authority.

Yes, and he was in a friendly interview on a friendly news network and had all the time he wanted to explain exactly what he said and why he said it, and how his views have evolved over time. But instead he got defensive and attacked the interviewer. Stay classy, Romney.

He also pretty frequently denies ever changing his position even though it's blatant that he has.

The "Moment Of Zen" clip at the end where, Mitt was meeting & greeting at a restaurant, was nauseating. He came across as arrogant, condescending, stupid, lacking any substance, full of himself and totally unaware of what a douchebag and half he looked like. It was an old clip, but you have to wonder if he's still that guy.

There are a lot of behaviors that are put up with from people running for office (especially President) that wouldn't be acceptable for a regular gig. Flip flopping on basic positions, outbursts to the interviewer, previous criminal records (multiple DUIs for example) and claiming that getting the job is the will of God.
