Within 10 years of the ban being lifted, it claimed, there would be "no more virgins" in the Islamic kingdom.

Virgins are a renewable resource. The best part is, the more women have sex, the more new virgins they'll produce. You can't lose!

The Saudi government is currently considering a proposal to ban women - already forced to cover up most of their body in public - from even displaying their eyes, if they are judged too "tempting".

The mere existence of women is too tempting. All women should be put to death for their own safety

Women drivers? There's a road from the bedroom to the kitchen now?

2011-12-02 10:10:33 AM
I propose* that if a woman ever touches something that's longer than it is wide, she has to marry it, or be stoned to death.

*modestly, of course.

In the report Prof Subhi described sitting in a coffee shop in an unnamed Arab state where "all the women were looking at me".

"One made a gesture that made it clear that she was available," he said. "This is what happens when women are allowed to drive."

Wow, this guy must be the hottest guy in existence. Every woman at the coffee shop, nay, in the whole world, wants his body.

Better yet, they should exile them to here. Especially the more promiscuous ones with the most tempting appearances.

Let's see if I understand, we can't wipe them out because of oil (that we want).

But we want the oil and if we did wipe them out it would be easier to get the oil.

So....we can't wipe them out?

That's some fine cogitating there Lou.

No, you still don't need them. Canadian guy here. Look, we've got a metric craptons of oil for you. We are already the U.S.'s largest energy supplier. So.... yeah, glass parking lot and all that.

Wrong. Oil is the only reason anyone pays attention to these fools. Even if they were gone the oil would still be there.

FTA: It warned that allowing women to drive would "provoke a surge in prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and divorce".

I can actually see more divorces happening because of driving. If you can get in a car and drive as far as you can, perhaps to a new country or to the airport to get away from your husband who beats you for having "tempting eyes," you better believe many women would do this. Send the divorce papers through the mail.

as crazy as that entire part of the world is -- most of the dumb shiat I've seen on the roads here in the US was in fact done by a woman. I always get that special stereotypical tingle when it turns out to be some little old asian biatch. I'm sorry - you can't drive... period!

Doing this for religious purposes makes no sense (just like all religion) why not just call out the obvious that their driving would be extra shiatty due to having to wear that fully body bukka. Besides not being able to see getting your feet and skirt tangled on the pedals can't be good.

On a more important note. why would anyone in this country (US) or any where else for that matter even care? It's their country, let them do what they want. I think many people fail to realize but one of the reasons we are not well liked by that entire part of the world is because we go sticking our nose where it it does not belong.

Driving is not a human right... deal with it.

They'll do that themselves, as soon as they ban women.

Was that SERIOUSLY in TFA? Oh my god, it was! Holy shiat!

Okay, Casanova, the reason they were all staring was because you'd put your underwear on over your pants. The gesture was actually to try and politely point out how incredibly retarded you looked.

Because oil. And because they let us stage our invasions of other middle eastern countries that aren't so restrictive of women's rights.

Oh yeah, and our former president REALLY liked the Saudis.

And Feaux News is partially owned by the Saudis.

Fun fact: Before we started invading,Saddam Hussein's Iraq was the least restrictive of any middle eastern country (except Israel because joos) when it came to women's rights - women could drive unaccompanied, go to school, become doctors and lawyers and even (lower-level) politicians, Women could vote (sort of - they were expected to vote how their husband told them to vote), and they could even live their lives without getting married and suffer no official sanctions (kind of like interracial marriage in the US in the 70's - no laws against it anymore, but still a social stigma).

Now, not so much. The lack of loyalty to what passes for a central government in Iraq has led to many ultra-conservative Islamic fundamentalists to take it upon themselves to put women in their place, and there are little or no repercussions anymore for the mistreatment of women.

It's really no different than western attitudes up until the 60's, but don't let that stop you from acting all high and mighty.

Maybe if we hadn't been bombing them and toppling their governments for the last 50 years they'd be more caught up.

2011-12-02 10:55:54 AM
I read about this somewhere else last night. Someone there said (about the no more virgins part) "dang, what kind of test do they have to take to get a driver's license?"

I have no respect for saudi males nor their traditions or customs (I extend that contempt for many middle eastern, persian, asian, south asian, southeast asian and african males too). Just because something is tradition doesn't mean it's right. And islam hasn't done jack shiat to help women, all it's done is be used to reinforce and legitimize the mysoginistic maltreatment of women.

We in the US are supposed to have the best and brightest scientists in the world. I wish they would get on the ball and develop fuel sources and technologies so that we don't have to depend on middle eastern oil. I would love us to be able to say "Fark you, women-hating asswipes".
