Then you are an idiot. Being assaulted with a deadly weapon is most definitely good reason to get the police involved. Whether or not your attack is successful isn't relevant. That is why people can be arrested and thrown in prison for attempted murder.

dude, that happens to me all the time. Usually a cold shoulder for most of the day and me asking what's wrong, and then her yelling at me for cheating on her in her dream with some girl from her work who I've either never met, or met once but don't even remember who she's talking about.

/gotten so used to it now I either start out by asking if that's what it is about, or I make her dinner, coffee, buy her a card, flowers, etc. so when she says I'm being really nice, *she* apologizes for treating me poorly and then tells me about her dream.

Name calling makes your argument so much better... You have no proof of attempted anything (that's the State talking, anyway.) You weren't there. Maybe she really did try to kill him, which I doubt. If she had, I think there would have been multiple wounds (as opposed to a single small cut.) Unless you're married, I'd say you're less than qualified to judge these people.
