SBC is an attractive man when he looks normal and not like one of his annoying characters.

Not to mention that he's got a degree from Cambridge, which suggests that he probably isn't an idiot even if he plays them on TV.

I think he's a pretty smart guy. He's quick witted, even if you don't like his schtick.

Supposedly, there were Borat outtakes from back when Ali G was on the BBC. In one of them, SBC was interviewing a rabbi as his Borat character. Of course he was being anti-semitic. But, the rabbi caught him taking his notes in Yiddish. I've heard this exists, but haven't seen it.

SBC is a better actor than his comedic characters allow him to be. When he acts he also really immerses himself in the parts. He will probably win an oscar for his performance. that's right i said it.

I love Mika, but I honestly think SBC will hit this out of the park. He commits to roles, and it doesn't matter if you think he's funny or not. He's proved he can 100% immerse himself into a character, and that's what this movie will need. He doesn't need to be funny, or shocking, or gross....he needs to be Freddie Mercury, and I think he'll do amazingly well.

As a fan of both I must say this could be amazing. Cohen is great. I've never understood the hate he gets, the man is brilliant. Honestly I can't think of anyone who could pull off the role better.

He made this character actually interesting and almost stole a scene from Johnny Depp. I think he could pull it off.

That was a beautiful film, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It just lacked something, but I'm not sure what.

Some of you obviously have a problem separating the actor from some of the parts he's played. I think he'll do a fantastic job and we already know he can grow a killer 'stache.

The scene in Hugo where his head occupied the whole screen, and he leaned slightly toward the camera, looked bizarre in 3D. Must be scary in Imax.

I think he'll do great as Mercury. He seems to immerse himself in his roles, however unsavory those roles might be...

For God's sake, don't let him sing, though...

I hope not. That would be boring as hell. By all accounts, they didn't squabble anymore than most bands, and not nearly as much Mick and Keith, John and Paul, The Oasis Douchebags, The Black Crowes Douchebags, etc.

I can almost guarantee he'll get an Oscar nod for this. If you can't see the genius in his Ali G characters or the acting chops it takes to play those roles for hours on end you don't know shiat about comedy or acting. This man is like a comedy Daniel Day Lewis and I have no doubt he'll nail this role and make fools of the naysayers.
