That's what I was thinking. I was hoping the military had given the OK to open fire on riot police beating down otherwise peaceful protestors, as part of the whole defending the Constitution thing.

$57 million for 8? Even for 200 it would $285K a pop. Just put an ad in Craiglist looking for older, unattached people willing to move to a distant, undisclosed location and save $56,999,975.

Whereas a Segway is relatively easy to ride (unless you're Dubya), it does take a sense of balance to make it go where you want it to go. You can't just stick a dummy (aside from Dubya) on a Segway and hope that it rides in a straight line. It's got to be much easier to load up a car with explosives and control it with a remote (or just a brick on the gas pedal). Easier than building a Segway-riding robot, that is.

So we should brainwash our soldiers to hate an entire country of people. That sounds like it might be counterproductive in the long term for our foreign policy plans, and it sounds like a disservice to the servicemen who will hold that grudge for the rest of their lives.

Growing up, I've met many who were alive during WWII and even 40 years later would still harbor hate for "Japs". If you train someone to hate an entire group of people, they will be loath to give up that hate when it no longer makes sense to hold on to it.
