This article is just an excerpt from Eagleman's book, Incognito: The Secret Lives of the Brain (new window). It's a great book if you're interested in cognitive science but don't actually know anything about it.

It's not a controversial book or anything; it's more of a "Hey guys, this stuff is pretty cool and you should know about it!" kind of book. I'd recommend it.
