So we have a stick underneath which a traitor who was later shot by his own men prayed under? Whoopee.

Bringing...back...nightmares...of... Gods and Generals....

30 minutes of actual Civil War action, 3 hours of Jackson praying.

Oh that kind of tree... I thought it was a prayer tree that hung next to the phone when I was a kid and my folks were going to that holy roller church. "Hello this elder so and so, I need you to pass this on down the prayer tree." I never passed that stuff on if I answered the phone. I wonder if my lack of using the prayer tree is responsible for the terrible health in my home town?

If his prayer was anything along the lines of, "Dear God, I'd be mighty grateful if You could see to it that my own idiot soldiers don't shoot me in about a year from now,"... it didn't take.

It appears that praying under that tree didn't actually work all that well.

"Dear Lord: Thank you for giving us victory in this campaign which should be just enough to ensure the war is stretched out long enough to completely destroy what is left of our Southern economy, and make it real easy for our Southern boys to get some when it's all over as there's gonna be dang few of 'em left for the womenfolk to make a fuss over. Amen."

Once again, a goddamed newspaper website with no address or other locater in the banner or footer.

CMS websites will be the death of us. Turns every secretary into a "webmaster" with no idea how to convey information.

Agreed. Just spruce it up with flash and make sure to include every jquery source file possible, and make sure those transitions are slower than the longest powerpoint in existence, and you're done! Oh, and don't forget to make 2/3 of a page of whitespace hyperlinked so that when i click to change focus or select text, i'm redirected to an outside page filled with hentai!

You forgot using a (div) for every paragraph.

CBS:

Jackson's granddaughter, Julia, lived here in NC until her death in the 1990s. She was interviewed in the newspaper about every time a new movie or book came out. I remember her once saying she objected to her grandfather being portrayed as "a blue-eyed Charles Manson" by some actor (I forget who).

I remember thinking: that would be a great band name - Blue-Eyed Manson

So they're going to show remembrance for this "sacred" tree by turning it into "sculpted pens and bowls." Which will then be sold.

/Manufacturing finally catches on in the South.
