Guess they needed a head coach that could still play Santa in the team's Christmas pageant

the anaheim ducks don't need any help choking in the postseason, but this pretty much locks that up.

Ummm, 2007 wasn't that long ago. It's not like they're the Sharks or anything.

Bruins signed Krejci to three year extension today, too...

Some rumors about trading him for Bobby Ryan were floating around, too. Glad that didn't turn out to be the case.

Didn't take Bruce long to find a new gig, huh?

Dale Hunter meets the Pens tonight. Lots of people had this game circled because of Asham's antics after his fight with Beagle. Who knew that story would be completely pushed off the radar by Crosby and a new Caps coach.

I'm glad we're (apparently) keeping Krejci, but there's no way in hell he would've landed us Bobby Ryan anyways unless he was packaged with a draft pick and probably another player on the active roster.

Asham apologized for his conduct immediately after that game and I do believe he was sincere. There's obviously no love between the Caps and Pens, but I don't see anyone going after Asham for that reason alone.

/but I could be wrong

If you're playing the Pens with the mindset of "let's go after Arron Asham", you're doing it wrong, anyway.

No, and I was not really implying it was going to be certain retaliation tonight. But you never know how a game is going to play out. Nobody has forgotten it, that's for sure. But much bigger news to talk about tonight.

They've also hit the finals twice, winning once. The Sharks just sniff the conference finals and roll over and die.

Anyway, a lot of people on Facebook are going on about how Carlyle "got em the Cup" and they won't do anything without em. As a Ducks fan, I'm pretty sure it was the Niedermayer brothers and Pronger, as well as an ungodly Giguere that won it. Hiller hasn't been doing that bad, he just lacks enough defense in front of him. I say trade off Ryan for a Pronger-esque veteran defenseman who can can get that defense corps. working again, as well as a draft pick or two, and they may still recover the season to at least limp into the playoffs. They won't win it all, but they may be able to pull of a semi-finals appearance depending on who they hit in the first round.

Who exactly on the roster do the Capitals have to "go after Arron Asham" anyways? Alexander Semin is the PIM leader on that team.

I heard one rumor about Kopitar. I was giddy for a split second, then I realized it would never happen.

I agree.

And thanks to the miracle of Centre Ice, I will be watching.

And the goddamn Flames better beat Columbus tonight. I shelled out $215 for me and a buddy to see them beat Nashville 1-0 on Tuesday night. They better keep winning.

Beats me. Maybe Hendricks.

For a relatively small guy, Matt Bradley was a willing sparring partner for anyone who f*cked with Ovie or Semin, but he's in Florida now...actually, I don't think anyone on the Caps care if Semin gets pushed around at all. In fact, they'll probably run to the locker room and pack his belongings asking you to drop him off at the airport after you stop punching him.

Or Erskine. They picked up D.J. King last year, but he's barely hanging on in Hershey right now.

Erskine is the only heavyweight they have, but with the d line so thin right now, i doubt he'd instigate anything.

They'd probably do it, too. Hockey players are very polite.

Yeah... I don't listen to sports radio, so I find out about these things from random texts from friends. Didn't make much sense to me.

Uh... bit of a size mismatch. Erksine is listed 6'4" 220, Asham is listed 5'11" 195. Erskine should win that one.

Both Schneider and Luongo let in three goals on very few shots.
