Wow, behind that fake plastic smile you can actually watch his blood come to a boil until he totally loses his shiat.

/But not his shiat-eating grin although it did get markedly more manic towards the end there.

These guys are so used to going on there for "interviews" that are really GOP ads disguised as news that the instant one of them gets a question that isn't a set up for a stump speech talking point they can't handle the pressure.

Funny is that.

I think the worst part is that these questions were literally things he should be able to recite without even blinking.

They were literally handing him the interview on a silver platter but apparently he couldn't help but faceplant the soup.

That's because during the interview he realized that he's lost the "The Murdoch Primary".

Now contrast this interview with Mitt Romney on Fox News to Ron Paul's interview on CBS with Bob Schieffer

Poor Mitt, don't worry. Ron Paul will protect you from the big scary interviews.

It's part of a rebranding effort. Since firing Glenn Beck, the big wigs at Fox have been consciously trying to legitimize themselves. Since their FNC Tax Day Tea Party rallies, everyone just associates them with the extreme right wing fringe and that is apparently bad for business.

There, that looks better.

I guess Romney didn't get the message that Fox News doesn't like him. He knows now.

But to be honest, I didn't see any questions in that clip that were out of bounds. I just wish Fox (and the rest of the MSM) would interview all candidates as seriously.

Also, if I were Mitt's handler, I would advise him not to smile gormlessly at an interviewer when he's being asked serious questions.

It's a testament to how easily Mitt's gotten off the hook during the debate process by his inept candidate peers that he didn't have a memorized canned response ready for each of those "hard" questions.

Why are they referring to Newt as Speaker Gingrich? Speaker is not honorific and any reference to the Speaker should be in direct relation to John Boehner.

Several phrases come to mind that involve laying in made beds and roosting chickens....

It's the new thing now: everyone seems to keep the most prestigious title they ever held, if the media is to be believed. I heard the phrase "Senator Santorum" more than once, for example. I'd be fine with it if they just tacked on "former" (or "disgraced former" if appropriate).

So Republican candidates think they should dictate what questions they get asked in interviews?

What a bunch of pussies.

I don't know what interview you libtards were watching. Mitt handled those questions like a farking ninja. I don't know why Fartbama is still even considering running... If this is how the trailing Republican candidate handles the media, I can only imagine how badly the frontrunner is going to crush 0Bummer.

Yes. A few of them have been pretty vocal about this as well. Most recent example I can think of was the "I'm not a witch" woman.

Having "Santorum" tacked onto his name is punishment enough.

I could be wrong, but I do believe it is honorific. Or at least I have heard it several times used as such. It seems it's not used when the person is still in office and another is the speaker. So Pelosi isn't referred to speaker currently. If it is mentioned it's as former speaker, however if she quits then it seems she would be called speaker Pelosi again.

I can't say that is right, but over the years that is the impression I get.

BAIER: But isn't that what Gingrich is saying? Isn't he saying short of citizenship --
ROMNEY: I can't tell you what Speaker Gingrich is saying.
BAIER: But yet you call him --
ROMNEY: Bret, no. If he's going to do what I believe he said he was going to do

From I can't tell you what he said to here's what I believe he said in two seconds. I think set a new record for quickest flipflop.

It must really suck for him. What with being an attractive white man, with a beautiful family and $300,000,000 in the bank and he's unable to buy the Presidency. It's all he really wants for Christmas, guys. Can't you forget about the Mormon thing. Oh, and the fact that he'll be anything and say anything just to get into power? He's got a TON of money! He can just buy morals and convictions on eBay.

So sad, Mittens. Why don't you just buy a sports team and run them into the ground like a normal rich person?

He was given some awesome softballs and he completely whiffed.

Take this one:

BAIER: If Speaker Gingrich became the Republican nominee, do you think he could
beat President Obama in November 2012?

Romney's answer sounds just like a limp dick looks when it gets out of cold water.
.
The correct answer is, "Newt couldn't beat a rug if you gave him a a broom and a maid. Because he'd never do the work himself, and what maid is going to beat a rug if she's sleeping with the boss?"

Just for the sake of it, and for me to post elsewhere in response to this story, this is all the questions asked of Glove-rnor Romney:

BAIER: What's your reaction to that endorsement [Union Leader, of Gingrich], and specifically, that charge about that you lack conviction?

BAIER: If Speaker Gingrich became the Republican nominee, do you think he could beat President Obama in November 2012?

BAIER: How can voters trust what they hear from you today is what you will believe if you win the White House?

BAIER: But I'm sure you've seen these ads, using videotape of you in previous years, speaking on various issues. [...] And it seems like it's in direct contrast to positions you take now.

BAIER: In recent days, you've charged that Speaker Gingrich was proposing amnesty essentially with what he said in that last debate. You were attacking him on immigration, but you took what seemed like a very similar position back in 2006-2007 [...] Is that different than where you are now?

BAIER: The question is what you do with the 11 million plus people who are already here and how you handle them. And back in 2006-2007, you made a point in saying, we're not going to round them all up and send them out. So, what do you do with them?

BAIER: The question is, do you still support the idea of a mandate? Do you believe that that was the right thing for Massachusetts? do you think a mandate, mandating people to buy insurance is the right tool?
ROMNEY responds: Bret, I don't know how many hundred times I've said this, too. This is an unusual interview.

BAIER: So, governor, you did say on camera and other places that, at times, you thought it [RomneyCare] would be a model for the nation.

BAIER: You think that you are well positioned to go up against President Barack Obama on the issue of healthcare?

(on-camera) Steve Hayes from the "Weekly Standard" asked this. Can you name two issues on which your views are not in line with the views of the conservative base of your party?
This is a fairly dickish question, I will grant.

BAIER: A.B. Stoddard from "The Hill" asked, if you were president this week, what would you do immediately in response to the Pakistani's decision to shut off NATO supply lines to Afghanistan and force CIA to vacate a key base used for drone operations?

BAIER: Charles Krauthammer asked, you pledged that as president you would stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon [...] would it be a single strike or sustained bombing campaign like in Serbia, would it be aimed at only the weapons or the pillars of the regime if you got to that point? [...] Would you be prepared to do it unilaterally if need be?

BAIER: Lightning round here. What was the last book you read or reading?
BAIER: Do you think your faith will hurt you in this primary election, and what do you think the biggest misconception about your faith is?
BAIER: A lot of people are talking about vision. What does 2016 look like after first term of President Romney? [...] Is unemployment rate a certain number?
BAIER: Do you think you have work to do to convince Republican voters to trust you?
