While channel surfing last week, I stumbled across some recent documentary about U2, and how they were going to play one of their older albums at a concert or some such thing.

Several minutes into the film, while discussing their relationships, Bono said "I think the 80's suffered from my intensity"....

It was then that channel surfing continued.... and I realized why people bash him incessantly.

The Irish star admits he's particularly turned off when he hears songs U2 recorded at the beginning of their career.

Early U2 was the only good U2.

When the guy who sang it thinks his best effort sucks, "good" is probably not the appropriate word to use there. I will be magnanimous and suggest the ambiguous word "best" as an alternative. As in the following: "The best way to have your eyes unwillingly plucked out of your head is by someone with experience."

Why did I picture this person while reading that headline? What the fark has fark done to me?

I was listening to early-ish U2 album recently, Springhill Mining Disaster, which is a live recording from a concert in Chicago. I was struck by just how often Bono felt the need to start crapping on about some shiat in the middle of each song.
