Rude Turnip: This is news to me and I'm excited. But, this is the first time I've heard about this new series. Where the hell were they advertising it??? I saw no ads whatsoever on Fark or Reddit (no, I don't block ads).

Arxane: I can just imagine that movie budgets everywhere will go up once Frank Welker passes away, since they won't have him around to do their animal sound effects anymore.

I can hear Frank Welker animal sound effects a mile away. He has a distinctive high-pitched, deep-throated grunt/whine/pant that he puts in every animal, so that Nibbler and Seymour from Futurama sound like like Slimer from Ghostbusters and Azrael from Smurfs.

But then again, when you do as many jaw-dropping roles as he does, you're bound to recycled a few voices. That's why Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget is the same deep gravelly voice as Darkseid from Superfriends and Soundwave from the Transformers movies (incidentally, it was also Soundwave's voice from the cartoon, before they fed it through a vocoder....dunno why they didn't do that for the movies. Another reason why Michael Bay's flicks are poo). Megatron's voice is the same, only spoken while inhaling.

sarah_t_s: You must be mistaken there was no 3rd Robocop movie. A rather neat computer game from DiD called Robocop 3 yes but definitely no movie.

And even if there WAS a 3rd Robocop movie, they certainly WOULD NOT make it PG-13 and recast someone else in Peter Weller's role to set it up as a pilot for a pending television series. No, no they certainly would not do that. Robocop isn't Robocop without the over-the-top satire on American culture: The violence, swearing, sex and drugs that have corrupted contemporary life. And Peter Weller. To remove any of those things would just not make it proper Robocop, which is why there's no 3rd Robocop movie.
