Dilemma - doesn't fish contain mercury, which is none too healthy for brains?

Not in mine craft.

To make it really exciting, drink lots of milk, don't wear silk pajamas, and always go to bed by 7:30 PM

Can't I just play Angry Birds and eat something that smells a little fishy?

Came in to biatch about that... and say the article is full of DERP. Unless they think the mercury coated in oil is somehow protected from being absorbed in your body during digestion and magically evaporates and floats away in farts.

To be fair, they're talking about FPS games. The stuff I play is still good for me.

My old man used to say, "Health food doesn't make you live longer, it just seems that way."

/smoked, drank, ate red meat by the ton, and got no exercise for the last 66 years of his life...still made it to 87.

Too many violent video games he says?

THEN HOW WILL I SHOOT PEOPLE WITHOUT GETTING IN TROUBLE?!?!?

FTFA: And young men who play violent video games damage parts of their brains that help them control their emotions, learn, organize, plan and problem-solve, according to the other.

After a week of playing World of Tanks, I have to agree that people have trouble learning, organizing, planning and solving problems.

Totally not true - I used to not know how to properly insult people in online games.
But after playing COD4 and Black Ops I can now make age appropriate derogatory comments. The n00b camping with an assault rifle is 7-15 y/o and the expert gamers are fat basement dwellers.

You gotta make a cost-benefit of your approach and apply your vitriol correctly.

Now if that isn't learning, controlling your emotions, planning, organizing and problem solving all in one, then nothing is.

Don't play computer games! Watch mindless drivel on TV instead!

LOL, yeah I think the study which resulted in emotional disconnect and aggression may have failed to take a couple considerations into account. Namely the level of emotional disconnect and aggression, and the type of person who plays FPS games in the first place.

If you went from a 3 to 4 on an aggression scale of 10 because of an FPS I would almost say that is expected. Have they compared FPS to paint ball or air soft? I bet the emotional disconnect and aggression goes up more when you are actually being shot at, even if they are non lethal. Suspects laser tag falls in the middle of FPS and being hit with a paint ball.

/loves my BF3 but have yet to shoot someone with a firearm.

I couldn't agree more, I can tell you from many firsthand experiences that people who are attracted to FPS are usually on the aggressive side to begin with

I have seen a latent effect from playing a whole lot of video games as a kid. Often when I encounter disappointment or minor failures or setbacks in projects, I reflexively do a mental search for a reset button.

But it can't all be blamed on game environments. On daily tasks I'll often reach out for a imagined -z when things go wrong.

These brain nerds probably visualize a lot of their problems in the context of neural scans and journal articles. "This recipe for breaded haddock would never be accepted for publication in the journal."
