Cagers deserve what they get. As he was driving a car, however, he's probably suffered enough. I feel bad for the gentleman referenced in the article (and really for anyone) who lumbers blindly into a driver's seat without making the precise decision to do the right thing for themselves and the planet.

Cyclist troll? Huh.

/Anybody who loses control of a car because they were accelerating to get ahead of traffic in the next lane is an idiot who shouldn't have a driver's license. Jesus, I do that all the time in a Honda Civic; it's not hard.

The only 2 corvette owners I know are a late 60's retired army colonel who made a ton of cash when he sold his company to L3 (has 2) and the other a 40-year old engineer with no kids, house paid off and 3 other cars in his garage.

Need some farker help with the dbag meme. Is he a dbag cause he is driving a Vette? or would any sports car make him a dbag? Or is it also in conjunction with being in his 50s? If he was 32 would he still be a dbag?

He's a dbag because he's driving a Vette and "loses control" while going in a straight line. If you drive a fast car, you should have some notion of how to drive fast.

/Drives a slow car, but knows how to drive it as fast as it will go.

Well these days all the really good toys are down in the sub 5 second range, so makes sense everything is dropping.

Also that is the time for a van with one test driver in it. Load in a family or a van full of adults (plus all their stuff) and your time is going to drop. Average American male is 196 these days, so 7 of them basically adds another ton to vehicle weight.

Yeah, I guess being a dropout from the rat race gives me a different perspective on cars. We own a '95 Honda Civic (unmodified DX), a 2003 PT Cruiser (not the turbo), and a 1966 Karmann Ghia coupe. And yet, I'm generally going faster than surrounding traffic, because most of that modern horsepower is never, ever used.

Most of the Corvette owners that I've met were over 50 and many were white trash. I did know a girl who got a brand new one for her 16th birthday. She survived that mistake by her parents, but not without a trip to the hospital. I'm amazed that it lasted as long as it did, even if it was only 7 or 8 months.

A few years ago (2003). GrassrootsMotorsports magazine did an autocross comp between a Porsche 356, Jag XKE, and a Honda Odyssey minivan.

With OEM stock tires, they were kind of equal. With one level better tires, the Honda smoked them.
