she was only saying, hypothetically, that if we did have an embassy in Iran, she would close it.

So I suppose that she'll concede that Obama was saying that hypothetically, if we did have 57 states, he would have visited them all?

Jesus Christ, this woman is an embarrassment...

Michele Bachmann says she's "fully aware"

uh oh... it has recognized that it exists...

Remember folks, it's not a gaffe if you believe it's true.

Why does anybody care anymore? Can't the media just agree that she is batshiat crazy, is never getting close to winning the primary, and let her fade back into crazyland?

If I were in charge of Fark (and not that Kenyan, Muslin "Drew" guy) there most certainly wouldn't be any child pornography links on the main page.

She strings English words together hoping they will form a coherent, relevant sentence.

Bless her heart.

In her defense, it is no less likely that we have an embassy in Iran than it is that she would be president.

Well, that's their SOP. But it's really:

1. Say something stupid.

2A. Lie

Or

2B. Claim you were just joking.

Or.

2C. Blame gotcha liberal media libby libedia questions.

Or.

2D. Victim card.

Or

2E. All of the above with derp to 11.

She wasn't speaking to the country as a whole, she was speaking to the Republican base. She bashed Obama, and showed what a strong leader she would be. Just like any good speaker she knows her audience, so facts and reality does not need to have any bearing on what she says. The reason Republican Politicians all sound so retarded isn't because they all stupid, it is because they all speaking to the same audience, an audience which pretty much demands to be patronized.

The problem with building a reputation for saying stupid things is that, on the occasions when you do actually misspeak rather than actually being stupid, no one is going to believe you when you clarify the error.

You have to love the idea that we need to stop talking about candidates because they aren't in first place and therefore can't win. This primary has been marked by a pattern of one not-Romney after another getting into the lead, facing media scrutiny of their record, and falling for the base to flee to the candidate with the least controversy they see as pure. It saves everyone time if everyone's issues are on full display at the start.

I honestly can't believe Newt will be the nominee just because the three biggest issues for the base (morality of the candidate, populist image, and ideological purity) are all shattered by Gingrich. Whether it is his sexual history, his questionable financial ties to big business and big government, or his willingless to buck party orthodoxy there is no way to seriously consider him the most attractive "Tea Party" candidate. Someone will unseat him as frontrunner by January.

Why aren't Newt's opponents just airing his "stop global warming" commercial with Nancy Pelosi on a loop? The man is screwed.

2011-12-01 01:05:42 PM
So now she is saying that she would have hypothetically closed the non-existent embassy in Iran if it had existed. Is that like her getting hypothetically impeached from her presidency that will never exist? And to believe that she was once considered the Tea Party's chance at beating Obama.

By the way when do all of the right wing shills come in here and try to defend her?

2011-12-01 01:07:41 PM
Modern politicians don't quite "get" that the average person can fact-check them, from home. We don't need CBS (or even TDS) to tell us what they said in the past, because we have Google.

I'd love to see a debate where there were three dudes with smart phones fact-checking each candidate's statements in real time, and calling them out when they lied and/ or flip-flopped.

Part of me wants this woman to become president simply for the LOLs. Can you imagine how entertaining the ensuing four years would be? Sure, they'd also be terrifying, but in a really funny way.

EWreckedSean: Why does anybody care anymore? Can't the media just agree that she is batshiat crazy, is never getting close to winning the primary, and let her fade back into crazyland?

You didn't ask for my advice but I'll offer it anyway. If you don't want the crazier members of your party held up for ridicule, don't make them front-runners for the Presidential nomination. Even after their star fades we'll continue to hold them up for ridicule because it shows how poor your party's judgment is, and how you can't be trusted to make good decisions.

She was put on the House Intelligence Committee. This batsh*t loon was put on the Intelligence Committee. Why? That's the fun question. Folks know that she's a loon. They know that she has no real credentials in foreign policy, and pretty much is an empty suit when it comes international relations, so folks tried to bolster her up, by putting a loon on this Committee. And rather than keeping her yap shut, and learning anything, it only emboldens her to speak stoopid.

The leadership DOES have to be held accountable here, because we cannot afford to keep putting loons out there like they represent anything that we hold dear. That folks are stepping up to defend this brand of stoopid, shows how far the party has fallen, and illustrates the problem within the leadership. She raises money. We get that. She raises it from the stupid, inept, and crazy.

Are those the folks we really want to be beholden to? We have seen the consequences of trying to throw planks out for this demographic, and it's damn near ruining the nation, and it's certainly compromised anything like an ethical position, and it is undermining our intellectual integrity as well. We cannot afford to put faith in these loons, or the folks who pander to them.

They're not just crazy, they're the folks you keep handing keys over to, to run the nation. We. Need. To. Stop. Period.

Never stick your dick in crazy, and stop trying to let it govern for you...

To end her candidacy, it would take one ad, verbatim, of her saying how she must obey her husband. President Marcus!
