I haven't been able to find an actual transcript or video of the Waverly, IA speech. The Des Moines Register isn't talking about this yet. Hard to tell without more evidence if she was speaking hypothetically or not. But its a dumb question to make a hypothetical about in the first place.

Contrast that with Bachmann. She didn't say the wrong thing because she was tired. She honestly believed that the US has an Iranian embassy. Yes, the extent of our diplomatic relationship with Iran isn't as common knowledge as the number of states but, for example, I knew it and I'm not a sitting member of the House Intelligence Committee whose job it is to know that sort of thing.
