He shouldn't stop helping people, but it sure would be nice if he stopped exploiting people. Putting Tom Sizemore and Heidi Fleiss together in rehab when Tom was convicted for assaulting her is just one example of how he overlooks what's best for the patient to further ratings. Dr. Drew should be stripped of his medical license.

No, but he has control of who is admitted and who's not. He was aware of their history together. If you saw the show, that shiat exploded between them, just like we all knew it would. It was incredibly stupid and irresponsible for him to allow this to happen. That's just one of many ways he uses other peoples' misfortunes to advance his own career. He should be stripped of his license.

You don't have legal custody, stoopid. It's called kidnapping, and it's illegal.

If you weren't marginally famous, you'd be going to prison for this.

About 10 or maybe even 12 years ago a guy I knew in Nashville went out with her. I remember him telling me something about witnessing an argument between her and (maybe) her mother. I think he only saw her once more and whatever happened that second time rattled him enough to change his phone number and drop any contact with her.

The only time I ever hear anything about her it's because of some crazy thing like this. Does she still record or tour? They were grooming her to be a star back then, but I guess she flamed out.

So I see you don't understand the role that a medical doctor plays in our society. That's fine. You aren't expected to know everything, so that's cool.

Here is my problem with what Mr. Pinsky does:

He takes these people who are on the tail end of their career and highlights their treatment as entertainment. I think he enables them. A lot of of these folks are in this situation because their addictions have ruined their careers. And a lot of their behavior was dismissed or enabled because of their celebrity status.
So we take fame, which is what many of these folks are trying to reclaim, and make it part of their treatment.

Something, something, humility, humbleness, etc.

I've been involved in rehab programs and his does seem pretty standard. He doesn't say anything in the context of rehab that I don't agree with. Whether or not he is doing it for the "right" reasons or not is hard to say. He seems genuine enough. Anytime you try to help the most troubled people you are going to have a lot of failure.

I'll be the first person to say that men are pretty much full of shiat when it comes to biatching about being victims of gender bias or that there is some sort of massive Feminist Gynocracy out to destroy manny manliness. Women still get a raw deal compared to men in society... except when it relates to issues involving children and parenting. When it comes to issues of child custody and support the justice system, as well as popular opinion, is heavily biased against fathers. And, to be frank, it is part of the antiquated perception that women are the de facto inheritors of the parental/household role and that anything outside of that arrangement is going against the grain, a belief which has been used as a tool to hold women back from social advancement and equality. It is sadly just another example which shows that there are men who can't recognize that women are still viewed in this way until that perception gives women, rather than men, the benefit of the doubt in a particular situation.
