When faced with idiocy so large, the only sane thing to do is laugh, and then report what they said...

2011-11-30 09:29:24 AM
You are not suppose to laugh as a reporter even though someone says something as stupid and attributing getting OBL to Bush and doesn't give credit to Obama for Libya.

Adopting a "wait and see" attitude in terms of judging the success to Libya is retarded. Libya was a success. The future of the country is still up in the air but it was handled masterfully by Obama with an intelligent doctrine which I hope is the standard for future involvement in international conflicts.

/however, you shouldn't laugh as a reporter. Laugh later when you listen to the recording.

Republican Logic: 1 month after Obama is sworn in the destroyed economy is all his fault a result of his "socialist, Job-killing, business-hating policies"

3 years in office and all his foreign policy successes are "Thanks to Bush"

I wish they'd actually gotten into the topic instead of having a slapfight over the term "advocacy."

Boring.

This is just another example of liberals trying to assign strict meanings to words. We live in a capitalist society, words should be open to competition and then bundled together to make them more useful. But instead liberals demand their socialist way, and that we be told by their union thug teachers what words mean.

Yep...

Having said that, I'm amazed that more reporters aren't busting out laughing with some of the nonsense that has been coming out of GOP politician's mouths in the last few years.

vudukungfu: Avoid the holidays with them, too?

Actually that is the best time. I had an argument like this during Thanksgiving...

RWI: And really what has the federal government ever gotten right when they were involved?
C_A: The interstate highway system
RWI: (exasperated) well yeah there is that, but even a blind pig finds an acorn every now and then.
C_A: The GI Bill (knowing he went to college on one)
RWI: uhm... well...
C_A: the Civilian Conservation Corps
RWI: (blinks) what the hell is that?
C_A: New Deal era program that put unskilled laborers to work developing federal, state, and local lands into parks... it was the most popular New Deal program and is used as a model for similar jobs programs today.
RWI: ...are you done?
Grandma C_A: I am particularly fond of Social Security
RWI: (goes off to get another beer and sulk)

If it wasn't for Obama, Bush would have got OBL in his first term. Because of Obama's obstructionism, it took Bush 10 years to get OBL. As for Libya, that is entirely Obama's failure apparently.

And remember, Carter caused that recession in 1983, but the Bush Tax Cuts instantly fixed the economy.

While in general I agree this convention couldn't possibly foresee the stupidity of the current GOP.

Either way it's not 'advocating' if you came to work with a pickle lodged in your ass as a result of a homoerotic fantasy gone horribly wrong then I would laugh a lot - doesn't mean I"m advocating pickles in the bum.

NewportBarGuy: Honestly, what else is there to do but laugh at their incredibly stupid worldview?

A few months ago there was this video floating around on facebook where this journalist student went around the Glenn Beck Tea Party rally in DC and just asked attendees a series of questions and put it in a well edited montage. And by well edited I mean that the answers were all intact, not chopped up and edited out of context and he created a record of what these people actually believe. And still that kid got slammed by the right for making them look bad and manipulating people or taking a biased and liberal look at the Tea Party. Again... he asked them pretty straight forward questions and posted the answers he recorded.

Well, Taxbummer created Arabs and Muslimity and Bush (peace and blessings upon him for as long as he lives and even a while after, too) created the antidote for them so whenever we kill a terrorist (pronounced Muslim) then really Bush did it because he's the Founding Father of terrorist killings.

Reporter had no reason to laugh....

Is this a surprise considering these people think regulation kills jobs, and deregulation creates wealth for everyone even in the face of the recent Wall Street financial fiasco?

Stupid republicans. Quadaffi giving up his WMD program was completely due to Obama. NATO assisting the ethnic cleansing of sub-saharan black africans who were descended from slaves from Libya by Libyan insurgents was Bush's fault.

And Obama deserves all the credit for ordering the extra-judicial assassination of a man in front of his family while invading the territory of a country that never attacked us using intelligence gathered through torture.
