I am curious if the serious injuries are due to the drunk getting run over by the cab, getting dragged by the cab, deflecting off the moving cab or some other bizarre scenario.
Ironic, I once hailed a cab at this exact spot (in front of Cafe Citron in DC) and when I told the cabbie we were going to Rockville, MD, and held the door for a girl, he sped off, door open. Apparently, he didn't want to miss out on tips for a 30 minute round trip.
