Wow, people will whinge about anything. Whta a trolly twat.

I always thought that the guy who invented those labels should have his paycheck stuck together with about 5 of them every week.

2011-11-30 08:43:26 AM
If you just peel them off before you rinse your fruit, it's really not a big deal. But I do like this idea. Still, #whitepeopleproblems.

2011-11-30 09:38:21 AM
Seriously? I never had a problem getting those stickers off, EVER. People who can't get them off is doing it wrong.

2011-11-30 09:38:49 AM
I eat stickers all the time, dude!

I used to work in a kitchen. I used to think the guy who invented them should be beaten half to death; twice.

Me neither. I'll admit tomatoes can be tricky but are generally no big deal. Maybe we're not eating the right foods.

That really grinds my gears...

I approve of this idea.

If I get one that leaves the glue on the food I just use a fruit/veggie brush under running water.

Finally? Solution? Atrocities? I see what you did there.

Indeed. "Finally, a solution" became "a Final Solution" to these weary eyes.

Just eat the sticker. It's fiber right?

That's not too bad. It's the damn stickers they leave on every other kind of product that are impossible to get off. Glass items are usually the worst.

Wait...only rich people eat fruits?

I'm a 1%er!

They are there because cashiers remembering product codes is hard.

2011-11-30 11:53:23 AM
Never had a problem with those stickers. I do want to murder whoever invented the plastic packaging that a lot of electronics come in that will cut your fingers clear off though.

ManateeGag: Seriously? I never had a problem getting those stickers off, EVER. People who can't get them off is doing it wrong.

I have trouble getting them off of plums without ripping the plum (unless it's underripe), but that's about it.

1. Bite* sticker off apple.
2. Spit in trash.
3. Get on with your life.

*You can use a knife to slice it off

Some people need more real problems in their lives if they have time to sit around and think this crap up.

2011-11-30 11:55:03 AM
I once saw one go by on a turd as it made a lap in the toilet. I didn't catch the number but I will be looking forward to seeing the next one turn into turd soap.

The stickers come off easily, occasionally they take a little fruit skin with them (pears). I have a sticker collection on the inside of the kitchen cupboard, and watching the collection grow over the years has encouraged the kids to eat more fruits & veggies.

2011-11-30 11:57:35 AM
Sybarite: I eat stickers all the time, dude!

You're not supposed to eat the whole fruit, bro.

I think a bigger problem is with twist ties that are twisted in the wrong direction. You know, where you have to twist clockwise to untie them. [insert FFFFUUUUU! guy]

2011-11-30 11:58:07 AM
Hey, don't complain too loud... the follow-on technology to "annoying little stickers" is going to be "laser etching burned into the fruit's skin". I'd rather peel a sticker than have charred fruit skin blended into my smoothie, thankyouverymuch.

/problems rich people have time to complain about

2011-11-30 11:58:48 AM
I'm sure that fruit NEVER gets wet before it makes it into your basket, so there's NO WAY these will dissolve before they make it to the check out aisle. Can't wait to see the panicking checkout people that can't be bothered to remember a dozen or so codes!

2011-11-30 12:00:28 PM
I will definitely make a First World Problems meme pic out of that.

Really? I don't think I've ever failed to pull the sticker off a piece of fruit in one piece. Is this really a problem for most people?

ManateeGag: Seriously? I never had a problem getting those stickers off, EVER. People who can't get them off is doing it wrong.

I take them and re-stick them to my fridge. They line the door's edges, and the one free oven side. Magnets still work, and I have a colourful fridge skin.

2011-11-30 12:13:56 PM
I think those stickers are the least of the problems that fruit has. Have fun eating pesticides and other chemicals which seep into fruit.

2011-11-30 12:17:05 PM
I have no troubles actually removing the stickers...
It's the remembering to remove the stickers I have a problem with.

/Like a half eaten worm, the stickers on my apples have my teethmarks in them.

I'm stealing this idea.

I agree that the main fruit sticker article issue is kind of silly, though kudos for being innovative. BUT, did anyone else click the link about his toothbrush thingy? That seems like a useful, nifty idea that I would totally buy (and proceed to soak my bathroom sink area with).

It's easy to spot the Farkers that don't cook in this thread.

The guy who invented those things should have his testicles sucked into a bottle of acid.

/No, I don't know how to do that
//Just sayin'

What kind of eraser do I use to get the Sunkist printing off my lemons?

/Just in case I want to eat the peels.

You know who else made soap with fruits?

But there are stickers which use glue that doesn't leave that crap behind. Why should you have to buy one product to help remove something that never should've stuck there in the first place?

I'm starting to think Goo-Gone and Crappy Stickers Inc are owned by the same parent company.

2011-11-30 12:36:21 PM
I thought you were not suppose to eat the skin anyways.

Yogimus: They are there because cashiers remembering product codes is hard.

They're there because a 16-year-old high school student is getting paid 7 bucks an hour, aka not enough to care about the difference between Granny Smith and Golden Delicious apples enough to tell them apart by just looking. Frankly, remembering the codes was pretty easy after a month or so, at least for the popular stuff. But there are different kinds of oranges, onions, etc with different prices.

2011-11-30 12:39:06 PM
Lamest complaint all month.

They always come off easily when I wash the fruit.
I do hope you all wash your fruit.

Nothing nice about an unclean fruit basket ;)

UNAUTHORIZED FINGER: You know who else made soap with fruits?

Holy shiat, Diet Dr. Pepper burns when it comes out your nose. Well done.
