Sure, women say they want a guy who goes out of his way to make them feel special. But you try to assassinate the President for them and all of a sudden you're the "creepy stalker guy".

Jodie Foster is a stuck up, Ivy League, D-List has been actress. She always has been and she always will be. If Scorsese didn't exploit her in Taxi Driver, then no one would even know her name at this point. If she would've given John Hinckley even half a chance while she was at Yale, then John would've never been pushed to commit the desperate cry for help that nearly cost Reagan his life. Hinckley is a wonderful poet and non-fiction writer. His letters express so much love and devotion that it brings tears to my eyes to read them. Too bad Jodie was busy slob-nobbing perfect haired rich boys, or she might not have ended up a lonely lesbian diluted with atheism and pain pills.

Anyone here ever been on the St Elizabeth property? Years ago I worked a construction project there. They had their own 7-11. The lunchtime crowd was interesting, to say the least.

Hinckley , who?

I think the shrinks and a jundge know a little bit more about this than you do, Subby. The man's been getting time out of the hospital for years now and he's been perfectly fine. We don't get to throw people into a mental hospital forever, just because they go off the deep end and shoot some people. Not guilty by reason of insanity means just that; and insanity is rarely a permanent condition. It's not some left-wing, touchy-feeling notion. Hinckley suffers from schizophrenia and when in a schizoid state, he has no idea of what he is doing. When he isn't, he has no memory of what he did when he was schizoid - maybe some weird dreamlike images. We have better drugs and therapies to help schizophrenics live near normal live today. If Hinckley is stable, there's no justification for confining him to a mental hospital for the rest of his life.

I am nothing,
You are wind and water and sky,
Jodie.
Tell me, Jodie,
How I can earn you love.
I would swim oceans,
I would move mountains,
I would do anything for you.
What do you want me to do?

This is obviously sarcasm, but Jodie Foster was already a prolific young actress, having made her debut a few years earlier playing Becky Thatcher in a popular film version of Jodie Foster. In the same year she did Taxi Driver, she was also in Bugsy Malone, The Little Girl Who Lived Down the Lane and the hugely successful Freaky Friday.

Apparently John has an alt too. No chance any of that is a scam to avoid prison? None?

gunga galunga: Jodie Foster was already a prolific young actress, having made her debut a few years earlier playing Becky Thatcher in a popular film version of Jodie Foster.

Dude, the movie version of Jodie Foster is the documentary that traces her early foray into hard drugs and alcohol abuse (as pushed on her by Roman Polanski's hot tub), and traces her through her time in the US Marines as a Vietnam sniper, lone wolf, voice of Tokyo Rose for God's sakes. Then she comes back, doesn't know if she'd rather be at war or here playing with the polo sticks of Ivy League frat boys who pick her up like a bowling ball. And then here's poor John. Just wants to take care of her, brush her hair in the evenings, brush her teeth in the mornings, brush her skin, brush the inside of her mouth, her windpipe, her very soul, brush anything for Jodie. And Jodie can't stand to be loved. The men in Taxi Driver destroyed her ability to be a little girl anymore, which is why she needs John, but because they keep her so medicated with almost-fame and barbiturates, she can't feel her need for John, which means John has to call loud enough to her in the darkness to wake her up, to draw her back to John, where she belongs. So that's why John has done and will do these things, man. Your fault. Your farking fault.

Not for a schizophrenic. It's easily diagnosed and cannot be faked. Psychopaths can fake many illnesses and sometimes get away with it. But not this one. An EEG alone would catch him up. Hinckley was evaluated by a veritable army of psychiatrists and they all agreed he is schizophrenic.

Please, it definitely isn't frat boys... no, it's more like the women's volley ball team, the women's soft ball team, the women in the young republicans, and Rachel Maddow's mother that pick her up like a bowling ball. She slobs no nobs - no - she flicks the gristle, puts a sheen on the bean, tickles the taco... why John Hinckley never realized that is partially why he's verified as a complete nut.

Well, maybe if he had actually succeeded at it, he might have had a chance with her. A woman like Jody doesn't want a failure.

If he had shot and killed the Iran-Contra President i'd say let him out and give him a medal as it is I say forget him.

but inside--
But inside doesn't matter.

There are no more barriers to cross.
All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane,
the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused...
and my utter indifference toward it,
I have now surpassed.
My pain is constant and sharp...
and I do not hope for a better world for anyone.
In fact, I want my pain to be inflicted on others.
I want no one to escape.
But even after admitting this,
there is no catharsis.
My punishment continues to elude me...
and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself.
No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling.
This confession has meant... nothing.

I think it's fine if they want to let this guy out of the mental hospital now. He can start serving time in a regular old federal prison.

Take a shot at the President and you should be put in a dark hole for the rest of your days.
