TFA: Any serious student of 80s action flicks knows that what the scene is really crying out for is a Schwarzenegger woofer such as "Nice of him to give me a hand".

You suck at one-liners

At least one but probably both were SyFy original movies IIRC.

Highlander 2 was a great movie. Dare I say, a cinematic masterpiece.

Need to read headlines more carefully, thought they were making a movie of

Andrew Wiggin: he didn't lose any body parts in splinter cell.

No, but Splinter Cell is a hollow shell of what it once was. It's not that they're bad games, but the stealth aspect has been ruined.

Stealth is more fun in Skyrim anyway.

I wonder if he had been available for the Clarence Boddiger role in "Robocop" his death scene would have included dismemberment.

List made me want to watch Starship Troopers.

I guess that's a win for DoG? Or maybe just for Ironsides.

So what is it about the man that makes filmmakers want to take him apart? Is it that Michael Ironside is just so intrinsically hard that the only way an audience can be convinced of his demise is to see him being cut, blown or torn to pieces?

Truth

Wasn't Michael Ironside the captain of Seaquest in its later seasons?

2011-11-30 10:44:36 AM
That was a lot of cocksucking for almost nothing. But growing up in the 80s/90s....am I the only one who thinks the action movies were mostly terrible? A few I can tolerate, but they lacked the writing and acting skill of earlier movies, or the special effects of newer movies. And the hair.

You wanna know what I think? I think you're some kind of deviated prevert. I think Drew found out about your preversion, and that you were organizing some kind of mutiny of preverts.

I farking hate this asshole. He is the worst actor out there and he is ugly too. I would not give him a part in a movie or TV show even if doing so meant it would stop two 300lb blackmen from raping.

Yeah. He was the hardass military captain compared to the science focused Captain Brody from the first season.

Of course, but it's more fun. Especially hillarious when the shot doesn't kill and they run around with an arrow sticking out of their head.

I'm sorry, but Highlander 2: The Sickening, was a bad dream I had one night. It was not really a movie.
I'm sorry if some of you had the same nightmare.

I was actually kinda pissed when I found out headshots don't do extra damage. And that still hasn't stopped me from trying to get a headshot every time. I love it when you hit them in the back of the head and the arrow point is sticking out the front like an antenna.

Personally, I prefer the Thief system of being able to knock people out instead of sticking arrows in them, but that would probably be out of place in Elder Scrolls.

Man, I wasn't. It's hard enough to hit those Master Necromancers on the run; if I had to headshot them, I'd cry.

And somehow, we've turned a Michael Ironside thread into another Skyrim theread.

/fine with me

It's best to think of each film (and the show) as "what if's" or alternate realities of the Highlander universe.

Highlander: What if...there were immortals killing each other for a mysterious "prize"?

Highlander 2: What if...those immortals were from another planet?

Highlander 2 Renegade Version: What if...we realized we screwed up by making Highlander 2 and erased all references to aliens and made them time travelers?

Highlander 3: What if...we ignore 2 and then pretend the Prize is incapable of telling that three other immortals are still alive and buried under a mountain?

Highlander The Series: What if...we ignore the end of 1, all of 2 and 3, center the show on one of Connor's kinsmen who also happens to be immortal, and pretend that immortals are still being born?

Highlander Endgame: What if...we killed off the most popular character in a effort to hide the fact that an ageless immortal is actually still aging in real life?

Highlander The Source: What if...we murdered the franchise, raped it's corpse, set it on fire, and then pissed on the ashes?

Your analysis of The Source is especially wince-inducing,but accurate.
