fta: Worden, 34, said he just wanted to see his 7-year-old daughter.

Getting mom put in jail for vehicular manslaughter is certainly one way of making sure you get more quality time with your kid.

/Feel sorry for the kid mostly.

Wait, you are in a fatal hit and run accident, get away with it, and dont get the broken parts of the car fixed?

even if the man implicated her, if she bought new light covers, it sounds like shes still be really hard to convict.

According to the article, the mom smoked weed and just got out of jail herself for passing a bad check. I am sure the kid is used to it.

The only way to keep a secret between two people is to waste one of them.

Hmm, I'm confused. The article says if she had remained charges likely would not have been filed because the pedestrian was in the wrong. BUT I'm guessing she was high and/or drunk at the time, so charges would have been filed. Then again since didn't expect charges to be filed, are they only arresting her on leaving the scene of a fatality or for vehicular manslaughter? I'm confused.

She deserves jail time, but the charges for make a difference of a month compared to ten years.

This is America, she will be out on probation in 2 years.

farscape: This is America, she will be out on probation in 2 years.

Nah, she is a poor drug addict, if she is white it will be 12-15, if she is black it will live with no parole. Only white rich repeat offenders get 2 years and are out on probation with in hours.

Wow. It's "The Aristocrats!" from beginning to end, including the neighbor who didn't replace the turn signal cover or the hanging mirror on his car in 10 months. She probably gave the neighbor weed as compensation for the damages, so it was all good.

Then around Fort Worth a few years back there was a fatal pedestrian - auto accident. The female driver left the scene the victim left with her on the hood of her car and stuck in her windshield. She did park her car and dead man in the garage. There were suspicions he may have survived the impact and died later on her hood.

At least that's how I remember it.

Sounds like the pedestrian was at fault. She won't do anything like 2 years.

She only committed a crime when she left the accident scene. Had she stayed and identified herself she would be off scot-free.

No I remember this case as well, it was on Forensic Files or one of those crime shows. She was out drinking or getting high and hit the guy. Supposedly checked on his several times to see if he was dead when she got home. The kicker, she was a nurse or someone in the health field, you know, the ones that are supposed to help you when some idiot runs you over.

Doesn't the article say it was the dude that passed the bad check? Or is that the joke?

FTA: Mayo called deputies to remove her boyfriend, Robert Worden, according to the Sheriff's Office. He had just gotten out of the county jail after serving 40 days for obtaining property with a worthless check.

Also, apparently she borrowed the truck. So, the person who truly owns the vehicle didn't even do the repairs... probably because he/she is busy smoking weed and passing bad checks, too.

/The more you know...

This is a timeline of events in the Chante Jawan Mallard murder case, according to court records and testimony:
Oct. 25, 2001 -- About 11 p.m., Chante Mallard smokes pot, drinks and takes Ecstasy at a friend's apartment then goes to a nightclub, where the women keep drinking.
Oct. 26, 2001 -- About 3 a.m., on the way home from her friend's apartment, Mallard hits Biggs on a six-lane highway about 5 miles southeast of downtown Fort Worth. She stops briefly, trying in vain to remove his body, but then drives about a mile to her house and parks in garage.
Oct. 26, 2001 -- About 9 a.m., Mallard picks up her former boyfriend, Clete Deneal Jackson, and takes him to her house, where he sees Biggs' mangled body. That night, Jackson and his cousin Herbert Tyrone Cleveland remove the body. The men and Mallard take it to a nearby park.

Oh I remember that story. That was freaking weird. She was a NURSE for goodness sake and left a guy impaled on her hood for days before he died.

I was just regaining some measure of respect for humanity. Why did you make me remeber that??
