Since there are no reports of air strikes/missiles involved, if this was an attack it would require some ground presence to carry out. The US, Saudi Arabia, MEK etc would be better positioned for that than Israel. Maybe some combination of several parties.

Or, more likely, it was actually incompetence or a tragic accident. If you want prescidence for this, see the United States rocketry programs from 1945 - Present.

I'm guessing it was probably an accident, too. I'm thinking it would take some extraordinary luck to booby-trap a brand new missile on a secure military site and for it to be detonated within the vicinity of an important person who just happened to be there.

Just because it wasn't reported, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Amazing what you can do with stealth tech, the right intelligence, and a lot of money.

Looks like all the debris was removed from the site, almost like they moved it so they could look for something...

/I know a US agency that does that

I'm thinking one faction of the Iranian government blew up their own missile so that they can blame it on "foreign agents" and "traitors" who helped them (and who conveniently belong to another Iranian faction that the first faction is opposing), and to help maintain a sense of paranoia to continue developing new weapons.
