No, some tropical hardwoods are too dense to float. Teak, for instance. It's traditionally used in boatbuilding because it's resistant to water damage, not because it's buoyant on its own.

IIRC, we knew that and the claim Wood was heard shouting for help when this was news thirty years ago. Have we actually learned anything new since the case has been reopened?

If this is being revisited just so some guy can sell a book, he owes the taxpayers a refund (how much manpower/time is being put into this?) and Wood's family an apology.

They say here in L.A. that the statue of limitations has run on perjury or obstruction charges, so Capt Davern is safe.

His book came out just over two years ago, it's not upcoming.

The only thing new is that he now admits he saw Natalie and Robert "fighting" on the back deck and tried to intervene, was sent to the front of the yacht. Oh, and Wagner told him not to use the search light or look for her when they couldn't find her on board...
