Good riddance! farking Canucks bringing that fake bacon here all the time.

Keep that shiat at home, ya hosers!

I pulled out of Kyoto once and made a huge mess all over her tummy.

Well they said if we didn't do something drastic by 2008 it would be too late. Well, we didn't. So what the FARK difference does it make now? We're all hosed. At least I won't get ozone hole cancer while I bake like a chunk o' bacon, which is nice.

That's because they're sitting on a massive gold mine.

As long as the USA and China and India don't sign it, it's just stupid for anybody else to, or at least for them to pretend it's going to accomplish anything.

I don't normally link to National Post editorials but I think this one (new window) says it all.

It was bowing to pressure to be seen as one of the good guys by making promises that were impossible to keep.

We named the DOG Kyoto.

We haven't met our greenhouse gas emission reduction promises anyway. We're just a bunch of environmental posers.

Hoser posers, if you will.

Mambo Bananapatch: As long as the USA and China and India don't sign it,

China and India did sign on to Kyoto. Why? Because they (and others) didn't have to actually do anything, while the West had to make major concessions.

2011-11-29 11:07:12 AM
They actually declared war a day before the US officially declared war. Bet those were a tense 24 hours in Ottawa.

2011-11-29 11:07:57 AM
Well you can't blame them, after all countries like China and India never signed......oh wait, that's right; They, along with other "developing" nations (regardless of how polluting they were), were exempt. I mean after all, Kyoto was all about protecting the environment, not limiting industrialized nations so that developing ones like China and India (developing? really?) could catch up. Right?

2011-11-29 11:09:19 AM
No problem, Canada. Kyoto still love you long time.

Just make sure you leave the money on the night table (new window) (might be NSFW in some POBs).

You misspelled boondoggle. I know the tech will get there someday but the promises and hype are bugging me. I am not a doctor.

Maybe the US would have if Al Gore had not suggested we do not and Clinton decided not to sign on.

It doesn't matter if we did or not. China and India will destroy the world, largely thanks to trade agreements and statuses with Clinton.

And then you pulled out?

Is that why your hands are sticky?

(Was that the intended meaning?)

They'll have to. Tar sand extraction is a messy process, CO2 wise.

Yeah well when your country is huge, your population spread out across it, and your winters are cold it's kind of difficult to not use more energy per capita than other countries with more mild climates and dense populations.

2011-11-29 11:19:31 AM
No China, no USA, no India, no Brazil. What's the point? Why should Canada bust their hump to shave 20% off their minuscule portion of greenhouse gas emissions when the big polluters won't lift a finger?

2011-11-29 11:21:16 AM
I wonder how much you actually get when you sell your soul to the devil?

Oh, Canadian government officials who are considering doing this, you are losers, baby...

Mambo Bananapatch: As long as the USA and China and India don't sign it, it's just stupid for anybody else to, or at least for them to pretend it's going to accomplish anything.

Aha! You implied the U.S. didn't sign it, but they did! They merely didn't submit it for ratification since they knew it wouldn't pass. This minor technical error on your part renders all of your further opinions in this thread moot. I can say anything I want in this post and there's nothing you can do about it because we've already established that you made an error.

Anyway, even if putting putting a liter or two of oil in my car every 3 months could possibly warm the global climate, I more than make up for it by constantly cooling several cubic feet of air in my refrigerator.

By now everyone should know that pulling out is old and busted.

Well said. Also when your neighbor is the biggest energy user in the world and your the second largest country in the world you are,by proximity, going to be sending more energy there than someone on the other side of the globe. To punish the citizenry for that is absurd.Furthermore when your population is 34 million or the equivilent of a couple major Chinese or Indian cities, what you do is pissing against the wind if they each have 1000 cities with 1 million plus population.
We are not some European country with flat ground and a fast train.

So Canada refuses to sign a treaty for a completely fictional environmental scare cooked up by corrupt scientists. Those fascist racist hosers!

Smart for Canada....the Global Warming Hoax is one of the biggest pieces of BS since "You get STDs from toilet seats"

When Al Gore and Newt Gingrich agree on something like the Global Warming Hoax....you know something is wrong there

As much as derp bed wetting liberalbots keep droning on fake Global Warming nonsense....most people are tuning out. Obviously a lot of people read those East Anglia e-mails

Well... NOBODY likes to be disappointed. So, if any Canadians feel bad about not being in the "Kyoto Club," you can send your money to me. (EIP, via PayPal.) I guarantee that I will lower the carbon dioxide level of the air exactly as much as keeping the Kyoto agreement would have.
