The picture they chose to go along with the article needs "Invisible Cane" captioned onto it.

Retire? What's he done since playing Lt. The Hon. George Colthurst St Barleigh?

Yes, but unlike Bruce Willis, Hugh Laurie has talent.

Exactly. Hugh Laurie singing "Minnie the Moocher" - either as Bertie Wooster or not in character - is one of the things that never fails to make me happy,

His PBS special several weeks ago was awesome.

He was in the very first episode (not counting the unaired pilot). Didn't say a whole lot, but then he's always been a lot less comfortable when he has to be himself, by reputation

He was born to play Roland. He has the eyes, the gaunt face, and the tall, lean body. Hell, he even has practice at an impediment and an addiction from playing House.

He'll be back on television before you can say 'antidisestablishmentarianism'.

As long as he gets Stephen Fry to guest star as a patient first.

I don't really think Laurie is a good match for Roland. He doesn't exude the aura of toughness necessary. He definitely has that "high pain tolerance" vibe, but not that "kill you with his bare hands" vibe that Roland needs. Just my opinion.

House needs to air an episode like Atomic Shakespeare.

Yup. He had Fry are very good friends, but unlike Fry, Laurie has a hard time being funny off-the-cuff as himself. He was a terrible (but not the worst) QI guest.

Watched his PBS special about music, and it was pretty good. His piano playing on it is very much in the vein of Dr John (and therefore, 'Fess Longhair).

No way... House only interacts with the patients at the end of the episode. (unless we're talking about a recurring clinic patient) I think they need to go all out... Tony Robinson or Miranda Richardson play someone with an underlying condition who develops a new symptom while traveling abroad. And Stephen Fry and Rowan Atkinson portray his doctors, who fly over and argue with House for the entire episode.

/who am I kidding... someone probably already wrote it as fanfic

Thats awesome could you imagine an episode of house with black adder as house baldrick and george as the doctors. With Steven frys Melchard in charge of the hospital.
