The Kinect 2 is rumored to offer
improved motion sensing, voice
recognition, and be powerful enough to read gamers' lips.
It's also able to detect when players are angry by tracking the pitch and volume of their voices and their facial expressions.

Lovely, how long before there is a FaceBook app that posts all this info straight to your wall? Audio and video of everything you do or say within range of this wonderful toy.

When my yet-to-be-born child hits 10 or 12 my stories about how "when I was your age we played videogames with controllers!" will be about as tired as my dad telling me that when I was his age we didn't have any air conditioning and the television only had 4 channels, by god!

But is the Kinect powerful enough to power a game that isn't more fun with a controller?

I read your post and said "self, remember when you were a kid and got a Nintendo for Christmas? And it had R.O.B. and Gyromite? And it took you about 30 seconds to realize the game was more fun if you just used the second controller yourself?" Then I said "self, that was a crummy game, it doesn't count." Then I said, "well, do you remember playing Punch Out for the Wii? Remember playing it with the controller and enjoying classic gameplay? Then you got curious to use the wiimote and the balance board and realized 'fark this, this isn't fun? You never learn, do you?"

Someone needs to make a virtual reality machine using a Wii Balance Board, two Power Gloves, the Activator, a Virtual Boy, and one of those gaming flak jackets with force feedback. Think of all the Kimbo Slice backyard fighting games you could develop for that thing!

Wikipedia is predestination:

If you go to any Wikipedia page and click the first link on it, then click the first link at every new page after that, you'll eventually end up at the "Philosophy" page.

Oh yes. You will. Try it.
Gotta be Jebus all up in there.

I just tried that and it only took about 30 clicks. And I started off with some random page.

I actually have been using my kinect like crazy, but mostly as a voice controlled entertainment system. It is the best part that I can start netflix or hulu from the kitchen, pause things when I get the door, and then resume without having to find the damn remote. I also turn my sensor sideways so that it can't pick up my movements, otherwise every time I'm eating it pauses or fast forwards whatever movie is on. Just too annoying. Maybe if there was a way to disable the camera sensor with a voice command. I just wish that i could control dvds with the voice control. and maybe the lights....

Turns out if they had held off just a few years the rest of the LED spectrum would've been affordable and it would've been full color. Not better mind you. It'd still be a WTF do I do with this and why are all my games in Japanese machine, but it'd be in color.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky. I tried the Wikipedia thing and while I did end up on a few philosopher's pages I eventually ended up in a loop between high and low context cultures. At one point if I would have chosen the second link I would've ended up on a philosophy page but that is at least one point at which I did not end up in philosophy.

It's actually an improvement. The Virtual Boy displays more colors than the average Call of Duty game.

You know, it's weird... I think I'm one of the few on the planet that could play a VB for hours on end with no side effects at all.

I still have mine, in the original box, with all the available games. Bought it when it was discontinued and Toys R' Us was clearing them out for pennies on the dollar.

Tried it starting from True Blood (one of the options Google gave me when I just searched for Wikipedia). Around 21 clicks or so, it has an endless loop that keeps taking you to "Language family", unless I played your game wrong some how.
