I'll buy some only if they still sell the red Swingline staplers.

If sales targets are met, the licensing deal can be extended.

My guess is about 3 years longer than is necessary.

Let me guess. Staples.co.uk will carry a similar version, but it will only be available for 2 fiscal-quarters and everyone will say it's vastly superior to the American paper.

The paper brand will be priced largely above private-label copy paper, the Journal said.

Clever. Figure out who the purchasing geniuses are that would waste money buying t.v.-themed copy paper for their businesses instead of the exact-same generic product at a lower price. There's no telling what a sucker list like that could be sold for.

The funny thing is that there are probably enough fans of the show who actually would make large purchases of this paper for their business that NBC and Staples could make a nice little profit if they priced it to be competitive with other brands. I'm not even a huge fan of the show, but if was was looking to buy 100 boxes of copy paper, and my choice was between Dunder Mifflin and Brand X for the same price, I'd probably go with the Office paper, just for the lulz.

As it is, you'll have fans buy one box as a novelty, and they probably won't even use the paper.

Primatech paper is great for about a year. After one year the paper starts to crumble and fall apart.

I don't think this paper is meant for business. My CFO is a cheap basterd however we do get the good Hammermill paper. It is for the home use crowd. I think some people will pay a buck or two more for the Dunder Mifflin, espicially they only buy a ream or two a year for coupons and maps.

The introduction of Robert California was creepy. Andy was a depressing manager. And they somehow managed to kill Dwights character. Plus Pam and Jim are like those two hipster parents that constantly talk about their kids. There is nothing and nobody likable about that show this season. I think the Shark Jump had to be that idiocy of giving Stanley that retarded catch phrase that was beaten into submission in just two episodes. Haven't watched since before Halloween. Has this show turned into anything remotely tolerable again?

Wait, sorry... I'm doing this wrong.

This show is awful and needs to be taken off the air immediately because I do not like it anymore. I am going to boycott CBS until they do this. Everyone else should join me, and sign a petition and stuff.

... and yet it's still better than the past 2 years. Is it past its prime? Certainly. But I will say i don't find it nearly as excruciatingly unwatchable since Michael has left.

You can now buy Dunder Mifflin paper. Courtesy of Staples

You can also recycle someone else's headline and submit it as your own and get it greened if you link it to a Fark partner's site.

Just so you know.

I loved the show up until last season; it was hit and miss. This season I've stuck with it, but no, it hasn't turned into what it should be; I agree with all your sentiments. I will watch this week's episode because it has Maura Tiernney, but I think NBC should shelve The Office and keep Community on the air; I think 30 Rock, Parks & Rec, Community, and Up All Night would be a powerhouse. The Office is now just collating.

Cute. I'm still not paying a markup on farkin' copy paper though.

2011-11-28 11:08:48 PM
OK, first of all, the show hasn't been consistently good since the third season. The latest season has gone crazy with trying to be sentimental or profound in every episode, but rarely bothers to be funny. Maniacal Dwight is overused, douchey Ryan is a bore, and Andy is supposed to be a lovable loser rather than a dopey boss. Oh, and Robert California is a huge disappointment since he had the potential to be more than just an enlightened, enigmatic boss.

Also, am I wrong in saying that Dunder Mifflin shouldn't even have a line of paper since they're just a supplier and not a manufacturer? They're an office supplier serving as a middleman, and I don't think they've ever shown the company selling a private label brand. But then, maybe I'm overthinking things, since this is clearly a stupid ploy for PR for both the show and for Staples anyhow.

eh, Up All Night isn't nearly as good as it should be. I do wonder about the logic behind the choices for Thursday night. I kind of assume Whitney was just an obnoxious placeholder for when 30 Rock returned, but I didn't think they'd completely fark over Community even if it's no longer as strong as it used to be.

Even if I do find The Office less obnoxious now, I do hope they start winding it down.

Charging more for the same product, while trying to cash in on a popular show that is already creatively dead, five years after they should have done it, knowing full well that people are looking for cost over some misplaced sentimentality? What kind of idiot would come up with that idea....

The Office should've ended about 3 seasons ago with Jim and Pam leaving the company to go be parents and work for a more stable company, and Dundle Mifflin bought out by Staples and shut down.
