Like the headline. But is this a fail, or an awesomely ridiculous shot while catching the goalie out of position?

I do not approve of this headline. It's insensitive.

I think it's a fail on the part of the keeper. Either way, pretty impressive shot.

I'd normally be inclined to say massive failure on the part of the goalie, but since it was tied in extra time the goalie might have been farther out than normal just prior to the shot in order to contribute to the offense. Kind of like pulling your goalie in hockey... in soccer sometimes they use goalies as last-minute attackers, particularly on set pieces in extra time.

I'd have to see what happened immediately prior to the shot to determine if it was massive goalie failure or if he was simply caught too far out of his net because he had just been tactically used as an extra attacker a second ago.

Yeah it was a fail by the goalie, but Inigo wins the game in stoppage time with a beauty from mid field.

Fail tag is fail

Subby here. Yeah, Fail tag was meant for the goalie, but watching it again, it does appear that the goalie was running back at full speed, meaning it was from far away, possibly from the middle of the field. So maybe Fail is too harsh.

If he was running back to defend, which my assumption is he must have been otherwise Martinez probably woudlnt have taken the shot, than this is just pure awesome play by Martinez and the offense. I wouldnt be entirely shocked if the play was semi drawn up. Its just not likely to work out.

I'm fine with everything but his farked-up throwing motion. Holy shiat is it bad. But, there's still 2 more seasons for him to mature.

/Here's to hoping he eventually brings back a B1G title.

I'll give you that. His throwing motion hurts to watch, but hopefully he'll learn.

Why is he smiling? Because he's not left-footed.

It's not really the goalie's fault. You use different tactics when playing against half a dozen men then when you only have to be worried about one.

that is his second goal this year from that distance. Here's his first one:
