Can we have J.A. Happ back then?

Are the Dodgers in need of a GM? Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw would look just fine in red pinstripes.

Haha, fark you Philly fans.

2 good things have now come from this abortion of a situation:

1. The subject of this article
2. Carlos Lee can DH instead of farking up all

Ed Wade was a throwback to the 50s and 60s, like those years that former Yankees execs (or friends of Yankees execs) ran the A's, and traded all their great players to the Yanks for garbage. Ed Wade took the Kevin McHale mode of giving away your best players to your favorite team for nothing, and took it to a whole 'nother level. He wasn't incompetent, he was just a crony. Ok, he was incompetent, too.

Godspeed, Ed; you'll be sorely missed. By Phillies fans.

I'll take Happ back. He was good in Philly. I felts so bad for him in his press conference when he got traded for Oswalt. He looked like he was going to break down.

Well, his pitching game certainly broke down once he got to the Astros. He was horrendous this past year. The offense wasn't backing him up much, but the guy was giving up a ton of runs before he got sent to the minors. He did show some improvements once he got back though, so hopefully he worked out what ever the hell was wrong with him.

After watching Wade run my favorite team into the ground for the past 5 years, I gotta say I've been waiting a long time for this day. I'm really hoping this Andrew Friedman as a replacement rumor becomes true.

If he lists his name as J.A. Happ, why do the commentators refer to him as Jay Happ?

/Yes, this bothered me greatly.

We're not giving back Hunter Pence.

I can't get the cap off!: If he lists his name as J.A. Happ, why do the commentators refer to him as Jay Happ?

from the lead of his wiki page "Though his name is James Anthony and his initials are "J. A.", he pronounces his name as "Jay".[1]"

While we know we can't have Oswalt back, we do have to give him a call.

One year his bonus was a bulldozer.

The Astros need to borrow that bulldozer.

There's a hill out in center field and it needs to go away. I know any bulldozer will do, but I think it'd be fairly fitting to use Roy's.

If you want people to call you Jay, just put J Happ on the back of your jersey. Putting J.A. and then telling people to pronounce J.A. as Jay makes you a doucebag from the extra effort alone.

If he just put the J on there, chances are people might call him James.

/He could just get a name change though

Fat man's contract is up after next year and the Stros won't move to the AL until 2013

Say what you want about Wade, he certainly had a more beneficial effect on the Phillies as an opposing GM than he ever did as Phillies GM.

Yeah. It's just a coincidence that Philly's former GM makes 3 big trades while in Houston, and they all just happen to be with Philly.
