Now we have two out of ten Massachusetts congressmen retiring when only one needed to go because of redistricting. I hope this trend continues. And, as a 4th district voter, I hope we don't get one of the super-liberal state legislators to take his place.

Define "super-liberal."

I am GLAAD he is retiring as a 1%'er. After all, to steal money from the taxpayers is hard work.

I'd like to congratulate Submitter for going with the more difficult Winnie the Pooh joke instead of the more lazy, baiting, and juvenile gay joke.

Histories greatest monster Barney "Worse than Hitler" Frank? I doubt he's retiring. He's just going underground. We'll never know where he'll strike next.

After Gingrich and the other Republicans started saying he should go to jail, I guess Frank is finally just exhausted with politics. You know what they say: "tired gay succumbs to dicks."

shiat... That sucks.

Frank did a lot for the folks down here on the South Coast. I'll be sorry to see him go.

Hopefully, we can get someone equally as intelligent and quick-witted to replace him.

jehovahs witness protection: Now if we can just get rid of Pelosi.

Why stop there? We need to flush every last politician out of Congress and start over.

There was a time when we sent our best and brightest to Washington to represent us, but now all we get are political hacks robbing us blind.

;-)

I would love to see Frank to get the VP nod in 2016. It won't happen, of course, but it would be pretty awesome.

(Guess I'll have to settle for Warren/Franken 2016.)

Huh?

He smoked Bielat by over 10 percentage points, if I remember correctly.

He would have easily been reelected if he chose to run 2012.

which is why he screwed it up so much with the Dodd-Frank bill?

Come on, he was on the take. He protected his ex-lover when Bush was giving heat to Freddie Mac. He made millions off the special interest groups he was supposed to watch out for.

Barney Frank will retire as a lobbyist and make millions more. good riddance to him, his sexcapades, and his cover ups that cost us taxpayers millions.

I think it is clear that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are sufficiently secure so they are in no great danger... I don't think we face a crisis; I don't think that we have an impending disaster. ...Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac do very good work, and they are not endangering the fiscal health of this country - Barney Frank (9/25/2003)

/yeah, right - he sure does understand our banking system...

I never realized he's gay. Probably because it never mattered; he was simply a brilliant man and that was enough.

It's a shame he's leaving, but maybe he can do more good for the Democrats this way in the next election. I hope it leads to more appearances on The Daily Show as well.

TheGreatGazoo: 54 - 43% is not 'almost got his ass whipped'.

Math has a well known liberal bias.

If you libs would just accept the claim 43 is more than 54, then Bielat would have one the election. But you won't because your biast against America!

I'd like to know too. I (perhaps wrongly) assumed that subby was calling Frank a bear with his head in the honey pot, and thought it was part gay joke, part lobbying $$ reference.
