Article: Bastien Champenois' father is accused of loading the naked toddler into the machine at the family's home in Germigny-l'Eveque, just outside Paris, and then running a cold wash cycle for a few minutes.

They did remember to take the kid out of them. Come on Subby, read more carefully.

If that's how the French bathe, no wonder they don't do it that often.

Fragile French toddlers. Don't have that problem here in Mississippi.

It's not hard, you just have to bend them slightly at the waist as you're putting them in so they fit around the agitator.

By lifting the lid of the washing machine, setting the wash cycle to rinse, and loading the kid in the machine. What's not to understand about this?

I'd like to know what brand of washing machine they used. Not that I have any toddler-washing desires; it's just that ours will shutdown with an unbalanced load alarm any time you try to put a too-absorbent bathtowel or a comforter in there. "Can wash a toddler" actually sounds like a selling point to me. That's a reliable machine right there.

I would be shocked if they used a crappy top loader in France.

Seems top loaders are an American oddity.

I'm not sure why. To me it seems obvious that the openings for buckets of water should face up. Then again, I'm american.

It's France, most likely it was a Front-Loading type. Real easy to shove them in that way.

Prank Call of Cthulhu: I'd like to know what brand of washing machine they used.

Probably a front-loader. They're 'unbalanced' by default. They're more popular over in Europe because they also use less water and power. A sensor is used to keep the water at the proper level and the spin cycle is faster, reducing the amount of drying needed afterwards, saving energy if you use a dryer.

I was more shocked when I saw a personal front-load washer. At least a top-load lets me throw in that last white sock that always goes missing while it's filling up.

I'm pretty sure if the content of this thread (or any part thereof) was just between the teaser and the inevitable suglasses-up of an episode of CSI: Miami, that show would oh-so-quickly get canceled.

Got a front loader last year... it's awesome, and you can stack the machines (washer/dryer), taking half the floor space. No more fighting to reach the bottom to get that sock or other stupid ribbon/lace that got tangled around the center post.

I'm actually quite perplexed over so many posts in here that sounds like you guys have never seen such machines.

Don't most laundrymats have these types of machines?

This is horrible. I have a three-year-old son, I can't even imagine what that must have been like.
