I want to know why the governor was following the tweets of a teenage girl?

2011-11-28 08:40:54 AM
Ha, ha... 18 year old Emma Sullivan hung a stink on that jerkass Brownback that's not going away any time soon. Way to pick your targets, there, tough guy.

No you don't. You really don't.

Meh... Fark the Governor... Make HIM re-read the Constitution...

Freedom of speach and all that yappity yap... She should not have to apologize.

Good for her -- lots of chutzpah for a girl so young! You know that the authoritarian network is almost complete when the system tries to shut down an 18 yo student for voicing her opinion of a politician on Twitter.

Is this the Republican Governor of Kansas that is allegedly into hardcore gay porn?

2011-11-28 08:42:50 AM
I've never understood the point of demanding an apology. Everybody knows a forced apology has no meaning or value.

This governor sounds like a waste of skin.

2011-11-28 08:43:54 AM
Soon we'll see the Kansas Governor give a non-apology apology over this. Why couldn't the gov have contacted the girl to find out why she disagreed with him then just try to win her over? Would have been better publicity.

Mambo Bananapatch: I've never understood the point of demanding an apology. Everybody knows a forced apology has no meaning or value.

It provides an example to others that, if they step out of line, they will be shamed and forced to show obeisance.

Hoo! What a fox.

Dear Gov. Brownback:

I am sorry you are an overjesusified asshole politipuppet.

2011-11-28 08:45:59 AM
When will people learn. Anyone over the age of two should not be bothering with Twitter.

2011-11-28 08:46:23 AM
One of these people is behaving like a teenage girl.

And the other is Emma Sullivan.... *ba-da-bum crish*

Exactly. Smart girl.

Ah, crazy old Brownback. He lived in what was zoned as a "church" in DC. He and his fellow religious nut Senator roommates caressed and washed each other's feet every night as they figured out ways to stop those "horrible gays".

Topeka, Kansas...home of Shirley Phelps-Roper and the Westboro Baptist Church. That is what reminds me of Topeka.

What's so chutzpah about tweeting something? Wow, she can type some words. Way to go! Douchebags all around. Especially her parents. If she had said the same exact thing about some random classmate, I bet they'd make her apologize.

2011-11-28 08:47:30 AM
Just another illustration of how out of touch all politicians are; convinced they have absolute power and that anyone who doesn't bow down to them should be punished.

\You know who else didn't like negative tweets about him?

This Brownback character is a hard core Tea Party brownshirt. He's an imbicile and a lapdog of the Koch Bros and the John Birch Society. fark this prick. He can eat shiat.

I love the idjit in the comment section who is complaining that her critique wasn't constructive enough i.e. didn't say exactly why Gov#heblowsalot blows a lot.

Hey, Lisa H.- If you'd been paying the slightest bit of attention as to why this teenage girl's tweet is getting so much attention, you would clearly see that Gov#heblowsalot provides the details of the critique himself. He does it much more clearly and beautifully than the 140-character limit on twitter ever could.

18 years old, and she already has more balls (figuratively, I hope) than every celebrity or politician who issues a retraction after saying what's on their mind. Kudos.

You say that like it narrows it down.

This teenage girl A: recognized the obvious hypocrisy of a forced apology, B: obviously understands how the Internet works, and C: seems to know how to control her message and divert attention towards a cause she prefers.

In other words, Governor you should fire your Director of Communication and hire this teenage girl because she would obviously do a better job.

How many Governors of Kansas can there be at one time?

There's a world of a difference between parents telling their kid to shut up and apologize, and a governor telling a kid to shut up and apologize. But you are probably a third-generation guided troll so it wouldn't matter what I say.

2011-11-28 08:57:31 AM
Hmmm, so I can throw ad hominems around, and if I get called out on my shiat I can ask for "meaningful dialogue".

This, it's just douchebaggery on all sides. This isn't David v. Goliath, it's just a girl talking shiat on the internet and a dumbass paid attention to her.

Governor Brownback, may I introduce you to the Streisand Effect?

getting over 6000 followers a day later. Welcome to the internet

6000 is only a small fraction of the people on the internet with nothing to do.

Sir, sir! An eighteen year old is being mean to you on the internet!

Shut

Down

Anybody else note the Dickensian name that Brownback has? And... he's trying to stop the gays... with his ass, most likely... and thus we know why his back is in fact - brown.

/no, I won't apologize

It works when you can prove that someone was wrong about something, and actually get them to admit being wrong. But yea, just saying "cause you made me feel bad :( " doesn't really cut it.

2011-11-28 08:59:09 AM
The funny part is that she's a poser; she admitted that she didn't really say anything to Brownback and it was just talking among her friends.

Not that this doesn't make the girl less awesome for standing her ground and refusing to apologize, it just makes the Brownback camp seem that much more ridiculous.

I fail to see how you can compare a basically unkown child who has nothing to lose to someones who's entire career depends on public image.

/And shes ugly compared to boxxy, whoever posted the comparison image.

Only she didn't send it to him. Gov. Butthurt there has staff that watches Twitter for his name.

Know how I know you DNRTFA?

Long and short.
Kid is goofing off during a school sponsored visit, and tweets a joke.
Governor has a Director of Communication, Sherriene Jones-Sontag, that monitors tweets with Governor #hesucks name in them.
Said DOC contacts group sponsoring snowflakes independant and funny young woman's school trip.
Group sponsoring visit contacts school principal.
School Principal A$$hat then requires a written apology to Governor #hesucks.
Story goes viral.
Cute chick pick means, well I picked her side as well.

/A whole chain of fail.
//Governor sucks
//Cute chick with sense of humor wins

this comes across as some kid giving the establishment the bird because, well, it's cool this is America and she is free to do so.

I feel better now.
