I have listened to Mike Wise on The Fan. He was well aware prior to this season that Grossman will just throw it up there.

The best description of Rex I've ever heard was by Tom Jackson on espn's pregame one day last year:

"He's a turnover waiting to happen."

Worst radio personality ever.

beerrun: "He's a turnover waiting to happen."

Nah, he's just a guaranteed boneheaded turnover once per game. If he didn't have that one-per pick, he'd be a pretty solid NFL quarterback. As it is, he's an okay backup.

Still, he has the best nicknames in all of football. Apparently NFL.com won't let you put "SEX CANNON" on the back of a jersey. Who knew?

Double coverage? Hell, Rex will loft it into triple coverage.

"Is that Berrian Moss? I think he's triple-covered. You know what? fark it. I'm throwing it downfield."

All the more reason to mock him for writing an article about it now.

Land Ark: Worst radio personality ever.

Just an unlikeable personality in general. He should stick to his bread and butter, which is the NBA. Now hopefully he has something to focus on and I can resume not having to be exposed to his work.

Mike's not even the worst radio personality on that station. He comes on after Wise.

Seahawks are definitely a good team to throw deep on. Their corners are big and physical but inexperienced (two rookies starting with Trufant and Thurmond on IR), and don't have elite speed. You can expect to connect on a few of your tries, and draw a good number of PI calls as well.

That would be Seattles Dave 'Softy' Mahler.

Wise is a columnist, not a beat writer, Subby. There's a difference.

And the only reason he's on the radio is that he's the anti-Kornheiser.

It always pisses me off when I go to read an interesting sports article, and see that he's the writer. I wish Wilbon wrote more.

I was going to do an impression of stammering, stuttering, self-repeating, rambling Lavar Arrington, buy my grammar check started screaming.

Personally I don't think Shanahan is all that great of a coach. His only success came when he had Elway, other than that his teams have been pretty average.

Yup, that's pretty much what people who pay attention have been recognizing.

I turned off the game when Seattle scored and went up 17-7. I thought, hey, they put away the Ravens and a few other teams this year at that point.

/damn you, Jackson!
//sob
///still have a great defense, though

I used the term "punterception" when I was describing Rexy's second INT to my brother yesterday. At least he's not throwing TAINTs in the shadow of his own end zone.

It's less that he's not a great coach, but his son is a godawful coordinator.

/exposed to more Redskins games than I care to admit

No on that station he is a genius compard to that blowhard Chad Dukes.

Arguably even more credit to Alex Gibbs (who turned a lot of ordinary running backs into 1,500-yard beasts during Shanahan's tenure).

I saw an interesting analysis that Kubiak is more likely to be the great QB whisperer, as well.

That's how I felt about Wade Phillips (as a head coach),

The difference is, Rex Grossman succeeds occasionally.

Occasionally but when ever I see him go to throw a dragon all my organs leap into my mouth....in a bad way.

I'm very sorry to hear that it affects you so negatively, but I want you to know that the rest of us really enjoy it. The suspense, the thrill of it all, the wide-eyed wonder that suspends us all for that magical three seconds that the ball is in the air.... will he or won't he.... throw it to someone on his team? It could be a perfectly-aimed bomb that lands gently in the arms of his receiver or it could be a wild, whimsical dragon hurtling devastatingly into his enemy's grasp. You never know & that's the beauty of it all.
