Sounds like someone on the team didn't like a "mere" cheerleader getting some publicity. TFA was right, this was good PR for the team but they've turned it into bad PR and made themselves look lick pricks. She should tell them to get stuffed.

I remember when the only good thing about the Cowboys were the cheerleaders. Actually, now that I think about it, the only good thing about the Cowboys is still the cheerleaders. At least they have a little class.

Wow, that's pretty damned stupid. Did they not like her joke about Witten's toughness.

I wonder if they still make cheerleader trading cards, I know they did in the nineties.

"This should have been a win-win for everyone involved. Witten looked chivalrous when he helped up Kellerman, she became endearing with her laughter and positive attitude. Both the franchise and the cheerleaders looked good after this. Now, only Kellerman does."

Not sure how this makes Witten look bad, but okay.

The only possible rationale I can think of for the team forcing her to shut down her account is if there's a specific article in their conduct code which prohibits the mention of Cowboys-related information via non-official social media. Even then, they still look like d-bags since the players are obviously not held to that standard.

On the other hand, this story is going to extend her fifteen minutes for a short while longer, so I guess it's not terrible from her perspective.

Calm down, Jerry, calm down. We shut her up and she's back in the kitchen. Relax.

What exactly was she going to say? "I had my back to the play and suddenly I'm clipped at the knees from behind and on the ground. I wasn't really hurt and more shocked than anything. Thanks to Whitten for helping me back up. I guess I managed to look kinda pretty throughout the 30 seconds I was on TV. Any questions?"

Actually, why is this even a story? People standing on the sidelines get run into all the time. This is dumb even for the 24/7 news beast. Moving on...

I'm actually surprised more cheerleaders don't get run over when they're closer to the playing field. Like you said, they're usually not facing the action and don't really have a chance to get out of the way.

I know normally they're a few yards from the playing field, but sometimes they get up next to the sidelines.

She has nice boobs and I would like to touch them.

2011-11-27 12:00:16 PM
I don't think it was the entire franchise that asked her to remove her Twitter account (i.e. Jerry Jones), but the subsidiary known as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The squad isn't allowed to have a Twitter account due to concerns for their safety (tracking ability) and have to be very careful how they use other social media. As a four year veteran, she should have known that.

I mean, it's kinda obvious these girls are hot and could be very prone to being stalked.

TFA doesn't say who asked her to delete her account. It was probably the DCC organization and not the Dallas Cowboys and it was probably for some reason like they don't want one being more famous than the cohesive group blah blah blah. It might be dumb, but I don't think it's anything nefarious like what some of you are suggesting. I know you guys want it to be evil really badly, but sometimes, it's just what it is.

Pardon me, but I meant to include "private, individual Twitter accounts" due to concerns for safety.

White-knighting a Cowboys cheerleader is an apex Internet moment for basement-dwellers everywhere.

I stand forthwith for her right to speak her mind and spark a nationwide discussion. Should be a short discussion.

Shhhhhh! Don't let them know what I am doing!

If you watch any of the "Making the Team" episodes on CMT you can see that the DCC organization tightly controls their image. They've let several candidates go over FB pics and statuses (tho' some of them were raunchy and/or of questionable taste, and more power to the org for letting go these dingbats who don't get the impact such images have), and I imagine that if one makes the squad they're read them the riot act about such things.

No so different than many other high profile companies really, although they're a little overzealous here. What she tweeted was pretty innocuous.

Her friend on the squad gave an interview on 105.3 the Fan om Dallas. She said Jason Witten is the most popular player among the cheerleaders (as a group) and that cheerleader in particular who got nailed by Witten has a favorite player on the Cowboys.... Jason Witten.

FTFA--Cheerleader Melissa Kellerman was barely into the middle part of her 15 minutes of fame when the Dallas Cowboys pulled the plug.

Til we know more, it looks like the team made the call, not the DCC. Sorry 'bout that, Di.

Actually, I was referring to a specific comment posted on TFA where some moran claims it's liberals fault for the hubbub over her twitter account Although I see how you could assume I was just throwing out labels seeing how you know me so well and everything. Please continue to add people to your ignore list when they say something that could possibly be construed as anti-whatever-the-fark is floating through your confused brain.
