This was one of my pics yesterday as part of my ESPN Streak For The Cash experiment. All month I have only picked teams chosen by less than 10% of the players at the time of my pick. Record so far is 21-23-1. While obviously not impressive it is interesting you can approach 50% taking only picks that would appear to have no chance.

I'm not sure that Kentucky's mature enough, as a unit, to handle being #1. The next week will tell a lot. If UK can handle St. John's and North Carolina, I'll be impressed.

I'm always concerned when a Coach Cal team is #1. On the other hand, this one reason Jones and Lamb came back.
Next week is going to be awesome.

I figure UK-UNC matchup next week is a toss-up. If Teague plays with poise and Davis stays out of foul trouble, UK wins. Either way, it'll be a close game. By March, though, Coach Cal will have turned UK into a monster.

It's a shame Brandon Knight left last year. With him, UK would be unbeatable this season.

please, UNLV played a perfect game hitting every 3 and did not turn the ball over on a still developing team.

Yeah, that UNC team sure is developing, what with all 5 starters coming back from last year. It's still just one game, but that's a stupid way to characterize this team.

UNC shot a higher percentage from 3 and had fewer turnovers. The big difference was rebounding, which shouldn't happen against a team like UNC. That and they've been horrible from the line all season.

UNLV: Go, Fight, Win :)

It'd be nice to see a ranking before our inevitable destruction at the hands of KU.

As someone who is probably going to UNLV, this pleases me.

I'm excited for the Ohio State-Duke game on Tuesday. OSU has been crushing the little sisters of the poor (and Florida) and I'm ready to see how they play against a real team just to see how good they are. I think Duke will win, but it should be a good game.

At least in basketball teams aren't afraid to schedule big early season matchups like osu duke and unc uk.

Zeller 1-6
Henson 4-12
Barnes 6-16

That's 11-34 from their top three. Many of those shots were from 2-10 feet. Pathetic.

Not going to win a whole lot of games with those three shooting like that.

Bright spot-Hairston was 4-6 (3-5 from 3) and 4-4 from the line. Very encouraging.

Where is the samurai? I guess he is like every other unc fan in this state, when they win they don't shut up, when they lose you can't buy a damn unc fan, all that baby blue stays in the closet.

What was really amusing was with five minutes to go in the game when it was still winnable, the UNC fans were all sitting completely silent with their unhappy faces on.

I'm not that confident Duke will win against OSU, even as a Duke fan thats going to be a challenging game.

I was at this game and the previous one. We UNC fans were just depressed after the first 5 minutes of the second half.

The game before it was the Trojans versus the Cocks. I tried submitting a funny headline about this, but it got rejected. =(
