I remember this dude: He hit HARD, but usually couldn't get past the 5th or 6th round with top tier heavyweights. He lost to Jerry Quarry, IIRC.

That said, a top tier heavyweight when Lyle was fighting was actually top tier. Today Lyle would own the division.

If anyone is noticing a lot of these classic heavyweights going down they really should check out the Facing Ali documentary. Interviews with Frazer, Lyle, Cooper, etc. etc about facing Ali and how that effected their lives and careers. Truly a fascinating piece of work and its something that people who are even casual fans of boxing can truly appreciate.
