They aren't just going to leave it all behind this time, or dump it off a carrier?

Change.

God I hope they don't spill any of the oil.

I still find it hard to believe the American people really approve of the Kenyan usurper's surrender in Iraq.

The carrier dumping was right at the end where they had more aircraft coming in with nowhere to land them and nowhere to send the aircraft already aboard.

Wow, the Army surplus stores are going to be overflowing. Wonder if a Patriot missile battery will violate my HOA rules.

Even if it does, what are the busybodies going to do about it? Risk an 'accdiental' discharge?

I sure wouldn't mind having the 3 million dollar satellite Internet uplink/downlink I helped set up in 2003.

I highly suspect Fark has become a bot wasteland at this point, which is only sad because it proves how stupid rich people are,

Man I hope they bring back the excess MREs. They make great catfood.

Don't use ABF guys. It seems cheaper to move it yourself, but after a while it's worth the money for a full-service mover.

Hope they leave the depleted uranium there.

Pssst......My husband is a crew member on JSTARS Link (new window) They will flip the lightswitch "off" for America. He's deployed right now. I'm very okay with him being home for a stretch of time.

They should call Goodwill. Moving is always a good time to pare down your stuff.

No kidding. The war was supposed to pay for itself. Where the hell is the $2Tn we were promised? We need to re-invade and get our money.

Send the bill to the members of the former Bush Administration.

Wonder how much of that will wind up in state/local PDs.

I know. Not a pretty withdrawal, despite, or because of, roughly a month of planning and evacuations.

PJRart: Man I hope they bring back the excess MREs. They make great catfood.

When's the last time you had an MRE? They were gawdawful until a few years ago. Now they taste okay but the texture is wrong. Still fills you up and not disgusting.

They will never be great but they are better. The focus groups earned their money. They've improved.

For a minute, the Halliburton types earned it.

Oh yeah, what happened to all that free oil we were supposed to get by attacking Iraq?

"Blood for Oil" didn't make any more sense than "We are the 99%" does.

Halliburton probably gets paid by the box to move us out.

And, because of an accounting error, will charge double the rate, plus insist the crates were hand-embroidered with the Halliburton insignia to prevent theft.

freetomato: Pssst......My husband is a crew member on JSTARS

I lived about 1/2 mile from Melbourne airport when Grumman was developing that thing. They used to fire up those noisy 707 engines in the middle of the night and let them howl for 30 minutes or more.

I saw the two JSTARS come back from the first deployment. Two of them, about a wingspan apart, buzzing the airport. Made the earlier noise worth it.

/1st professional interview was for working on a diags system for those planes

We should only bring back the modified ones..Let the Iraqi's modify their own wooden toilet roll holders..
Imagine the years of research and know-how that went into modification. And probably billions of dollars.

I was told by reliable sources that Obama lied about keeping troops in Iraq.

2011-11-26 08:00:17 PM
At what point after the rest of the troops come home do we as a nation admit that the whole Iraq thing was a COLOSSAL waste of blood, treasure and goodwill?

Everybody knows it. The smarter non-stupid ones among us knew it was a mistake long before the invasion began.

We as a nation have GOT to acknowledge our mistakes if we ever want to learn from them.

------------

I sometimes wonder how much money from those LITERAL pallets of cash flown into Iraq ended up in the hands of terrorists, and what was bought with it.

dogfart: I think all off you little jerk offs have no idea what these soldiers have done for you.

I am going to preface what I am about to say with that I fully appreciate everything that the armed services do, but I am pretty sure that Iraq wasn't invaded for me.
