Nice voice....

Wait. Did she go cross-eyed at 4:50?

I love her voice. I just watched the SNL from last week and usually fast forward through their crap performers but loved her.

I saw her live in Orlando a few months ago, she sang her lungs out, best show ive ever seen.

Anyone know if she's a real redhead or not?

She's naturally a brunette.

Sometimes, it seems she lets the color fade out because I've seen a few youtube videos of her performing as a brunette.

This, it was enough for me to get both their albums this week. I can't say every single song is great, but her voice just makes them all worth listening to.

The first I heard of them was on the Colbert Report. Have been a fan ever since.

Too bad she's racist. On the bright side she managed to find less gropey boys

My google-fu told me this, but I couldn't find pics to back it up...any examples?

so is it official? am i seriously the ONLY person i know (or associate with online) who finds f+tm to be utterly annoying?

ok, that's fine, taste is subjective, and all...

So she appears in a music video that SHE DIDN'T DIRECT with a guy that appears in blackface (which looks more like green paint, to me) and she gets called a racist. I guess artistic license needs to be PC too.

If anything; call the directors of the video the racist, not Flo.

Google the video for "No Light, No Light" because that's what started the shiatstorm.

As you should guess from second sentence I wasn't serious

Eh, my bad. It's late and I've seen too many people being idiots about the whole thing.

Anyone else get a stong grace slick vibe from the sound of this chick?

She could probably do some kickass Airplane covers.

Jimmy Brooks sings now?

Florence Welch might have a great voice, however, she can't play any instruments functionally which she really needs to do her own songwriting well. Poor orchestration on her latest album Ceremonials and she just seems drone on and on and on for most of the album.

///word for the wise, if you don't have much material, then don't make every song 5+ minutes. it's ok. we forgive you.

Still sucks. Also global indie sensation is an oxymoron.

Yep, she sure did. I'd guess the vibrator kicked on.

agreed. i have TRIED to like this band. couple of years ago i saw florence with other women paying tribute to 'retha, and i thought "that redhead's got pipes", but that's the only time i've really liked her

Interesting, since I watched it too, had no idea who she was, and thought that it was initially just the start of a bad sketch. It made for a nice night of making jokes about transvestites who can't sing.

Lisa Stanfield did it better when she was covering Barry White, and was hot and we didnt call her an indie sensation, we called her a singer.

Right subby, one of the most well-reviewed albums of the year is bad.

I've noticed this also. Strong voice, but the instrumentation is so layered that everything else behind her voice is indistinguishable, and most of the songs have weak hooks. My wife loves Florence and the Machine, but it's still hard for me to tell what song is what aside from "Heavy," and a few others. Kate Bush can get away with that kind of stuff, but not Florence Welch.

You're not alone. My wife and I find her voice utterly unbearable.

My thoughts exactly. Love "Lungs"; for the most part, the songs are very distinct. But "Ceremonials" is so homogeneous, I can't remember one song from another.
