Accidental. Drowning is a hazard of wearing cement shoes.

FTA:

A rash of killings and disappearances in late 2009 and early 2010 decimated the operation and have robbed him of many of his closest family members. Rizzuto's father and son were gunned down, as were other friends, while his brother-in-law simply vanished.

Montagna became the latest name on the list.

Holy $#@%

If he's in Canada, wouldn't it be easier to just forcefeed him poutine instead of going through all that nonsense with the cement?

gibbon1: Accidental. Drowning is a hazard of wearing cement shoes.

Contrary to TV movie stereotypes, cement shoes are usually added after death as a way of disposing of a body.

This proves my point that wops don't know how to swim. Wait... was that wops, or blacks? I don't remember. Either way I'm sure neither can swim

Yup, this is just another Rizzuto family disappearance. They were (are?) well connected with the Bonanno family of NY - have done a lot of dealings with them, particularly in drugs. The whole thing has been going on for a number of years.

The thing I want to know is who is knocking off all the Rizzutos and associates - some sort of power play is obviously going on and it would be nice to have a clue who to avoid now.

Officer: "The autopsy report says he died of natural causes! But he was found at the bottom of a river with cement loafers!"

Police chief: "yes. Naturally he's going to die from that."

It's a lot of fun living in a heavily Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn. I feel perfectly safe waking down the street after a night out.

/css When we were looking at neighborhoods to live in, my husband and I came through on both a weekend and a weekday. One of the weekdays was a Tuesday, for lunch. My husband started laughing as we walking by three or four restaurants in five blocks, all of which had the Cadillacs and Lincolns double parked in front. I asked what was so funny. He said they were divvying up the take from the weekend and this would be a great neighborhood to live in.

I actually had to ask what the take was. He told me it was the take from the bookmaking.

Dead by the river? Did he reek of salmon? There could be a simpler explanation.
