Still better than being Kyle though.

Fifty grand seems steep for a gesture and being rude to a reporter when you're having a crappy day.

Dr. Jerry Punch is one of the most beloved and respected figures in all of NASCAR. He farked with the wrong guy here.

The audio is a bit shiatty for most of it, but within 12 seconds of this video (new window) you have Kurt Busch being a sarcastic ass to Dr. Punch.

Gesture that went out live on national television. Luckily it was on ESPN, not ABC. If it went over broadcast TV, ABC would be looking at FCC complaints from the busybody brigade.

I think he was flipping off an official from his car, so that irks NASCAR, too. That's 3 strikes in the span of 10 minutes. Great job, Kurt.

Of course, his flip off was nothing compared to Will Power's (completely justified) double bird at the New Hampshire Indycar race.

:P

Kurt's only good thing he did this year was winning two races and his "monkey farking a football" rant.

Will Power's double bird is priceless. Wasn't he flipping off Barnhart? If not, he should.

I wonder if Kyle Petty got fined for his "what the fark was that?" at Sonoma a few years ago. That was just dumb on Fox's part. They ran it in a replay.

The Greater Douche would have dropped and F-bomb and punched out the reporter. Kurt really needs to step up his game or he'll always just be the Lesser Douche.

It's almost as if there's a race next week.... *sniff*

/sure could use it with the PIT game on at NIGHT after a BYE week

It was a tough year for the Busch's. Tough, but they did still manage to win a combined 21 of 95 national series races run last year. Without the Chase, they both scored top 10 in points. Kurt still somehow managed to score more points than Keselowski, who was on fire the entire second half of the season. But they finished outside of the top 10 basically through bad luck and equipment failures during the Chase, and in Kyle's case, also getting suspended for a race.

But Tony Stewart won the championship, so it was a great season in my book. Hoosier power, biatches.

There's one more V8 Supercar race left, IIRC.

Most likely for Fark motorsports fans, the last possible race thread will be the Formula 1 finale this weekend. I know I will be submitting a thread. Thanks to being in Brazil, qualifying will be at 11 AM ET tomorrow, and the race will be Sunday with coverage starting at 10:30 AM ET. I dunno if F1 is your thing or not, but if not, might as well check it out and make snarky comments, to help tide you over until February.

I'll definitely try to show for the F1 finale. I need one more racing fix, LOL.

As far as the Busch brothers go, tough seasons for sure. It will be interesting to see how they come out at the end of the off season.

/Smoke!
//That was a hell of a race. I'm now kicking myself, because I forgot to DVR the replay.

Jerry Punch is an asshole. I don't care how happy he looks or how beloved he is. He asks stupid questions.

I have seen all the videos. This is not a $50K incident. This is plain stupid. If you're evil opie, you flip a car and you get probation for a few races. You flip a fan off and you get a $50K fine.

good_2_go: Kenny Wallace cut back on his coffee intake, went on SiriusXM, and delivered a calm, composed, 25 minute smackdown of the Busch brothers. (new window)

Thanks for that. He had a very good point about how bad driver behavior can, and does, scare sponsors away from the entire sport for good.

Suh would have punched Dr. Jerry.

It kind of becomes a $50,000 incident when you keep doing shiat like this.

Wow. I'm honestly surprised that anybody would defend that BS. Doesn't matter what you think of Dr. Jerry Punch (who is probably one of the nicest, most respected guys in the pits) a driver should NEVER talk to the media, or anybody else for that matter, like that.

Busch Brothers racing team may be a reality soon, how long are Gibbs and Penske going to put up with this type of crap?
