I guessed.... wisely.

"Somehow she was trying to use it to gain an upper hand," police Lt. Abel Parga told The Associated Press early Friday.

That's some mighty fine police work, Lou.

It's been a busy couple of weeks for pepper spray in the news, that's for sure.

That's a great idea! Now if I only had some pepper spray.

Does anyone know if there are any Black Friday deals on pepper spray anywhere?

Someone is just giving it away for free at Wal*Mart.

Alas, I got up too late to submit this with a funnier "free food product samples" headline.

But I'd rather buy it by the bottle, rather than by the spritz.

The power of reason is no match for Defense Technology's superior repression power. Gotta be Walmart

*clicks link*

Why aren't I surprised?

I do NOT go to Walmart. Not because I disagree w/their business tactics, union-busting, or just plain crappy way they treat their employees. Nope--I won't go there because I farking can't stand the PEOPLE who shop there! I'll pay a few extra dollars to buy stuff at Target--and get a chai at Starbucks while I'm there.

The last time I was at Walmart was at 11pm & I needed a zipper for an outfit I was sewing. There were 2 screaming kids running around the store, their land-whale parents arguing loudly in the appliance aisle, and some self-important douchebag looking at clothes while holding her Yorkie. Not one employee did anything to shut the kids up or tell the woman that her rat-dog wasn't allowed in the store. Then had to wait forever at the cashier while the idiot in front of me paid with a check. That was 3 years ago and I've never been back.

why are police looking for her since according to fox news it is 1) essencially a food product and 2) causes no lasting effects (other than occasional blindness and death) so it's A-OK to use.

I go there almost exclusively for groceries, but I found that most of the WIC-moms buying entire cart fulls of groceries seem to shop only late at night (10pm-3am) when there is just one cashier. I then found that going around 7-8am is a much more pleasant experience. It almost seems like the only people there are employees. I can get my shiat and get out in about 10 minutes.

Classic. We won't go in there either. I went into a super WalMart in near Durham, NC 7 years ago during the holidays. I know where Springer gets his 'guests'.

I was at Wal-Mart this morning. I waited in line in the electronics department to get a gift for my daughter.

You know what ticks me off about you people? You are all criticizing the shoppers who do this, and yet not one of you lazy bums got your butts out of bed at 4:30 this morning to drive to the store to make sure somebody else gets a merry Christmas.

If you don't get what you want for Christmas this year, who are you going to blame? Not your mom, I hope. Not the one who did the cooking and the cleaning and the decorating and the shopping and the wrapping so Christmas would be nice for YOU.

Do you think I WANTED to get out of bed at 4:30 this morning after spending all day yesterday orchestrating Thanksgiving? How about a little less disrespect and an occasional "Thanks, mom, for doing that".

Exactly. I don't even give a shiat about politics or third world working conditions. I love bargain hunting as much as anyone, but the Walmart experience is such a negative one. I never leave that store without feeling like I need a shower.

Similarly, I'm pretty sure the family that owns Chick Fil A actively supports eugenics. But their chicken sammitches are damn good, so I really don't care about the politics and crap behind it. Life is too short for voluntarily experiences to be shiatty. If I'm going to spend my hard-earned on shiat I don't need, I'd prefer to enjoy doing it.

Sounds like the only douchebag in the store was you.

And if you think shopping at Target makes you better than shopping at Wal-Mart, you might want to adjust the height of that high-horse you're sitting on.

Eeek. I'm wondering if Walmart needs to start offering a "risk discount" to its customers for taking on the implied danger of stepping foot into that store (or the parking lot).

I view Walmart is the Gerry Springer of retail shopping. All of Gerry's clientele shop there so it stands to reason.
