Electronic Arts should be sued for putting a horrible game like Battlefield 3 on the market in the first place. I mean, I've never played the game, but there is no way that it can compete with the high-octane entertainment and social gaming experience that I get from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3™ on the Xbox 360 home entertainment system. I just got 24th Prestige yesterday. It was even more exciting and intense than the first 23 times. Incredible game. I doubt there has ever been a better first-person shooter than Call of Duty. This game is going to be my descent into doom, a metaphorical quake that it going to half my life expectancy. What a shock to my system. No deus ex machinas to be found in this incredible single-player campaign. Unreal.

Haven't touched BF3 (PC) since Skyrim and Saints Row the Third came out (the latter a Redbox rent, going to cram beating it today and Friday).

Not a bad game, just not up to par with BF2/2142.

I totally agree that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3™ is the most exciting and addicting game experience on the market today. I played it until my Xbox 360 home entertainment system suffered from the dreaded red rings of death. I sent my console in to be repaired but I couldn't wait. I went to GameStop® and bought another Xbox 360 home entertainment system so I could keep on playing. Now I have two! Plus I got a free copy of Kung Fu Panda TheGame. That game is also a blast. I've never seen the movie but it looks just like the trailers.

For mw3 no. The weapons you get at level one are essentially as good as level fifty. The perks don't seem to have near as big an impact as mw1/black ops. As for battlefield 3 the guns are more of prefrence and it has no real perk system.

Then I suggest the Serious Sam series. It's over the top parody of the old Doom/Quake style games but it's gameplay is pretty solid and true to the old-school FPS genre. Serious Sam 3: BFE just came out for PC.

What I'm saying is that Rainbow Six Vegas & Vegas 2 are pretty straightforward shooters. You go on missions, but you aren't expected to row a boat or fly a plane or drive a tank. Your character basically ziplines from a helicoptor into a scenario and you have your weapons. As the scenario procedes and you run low on ammo you loot the dead for their weapons and ammo. They're pretty well thought through and I'll bet you can get them cheap now since they've been out for quite a while. They also have accurate weapons and when you hit an enemy they pretty much die. It simulate real life weaponry that has that effect. The AI is good and the environments are varied and challenging.

Really? I've had the opposite experience. TF2 seems to be much more group and tactic oriented.

Rather than MWs approach of 'every 12 year old plays sniper with shotgun from across the map regardless of match type'.

Really couldn't care for The Elder Scrolls games, combat in those games is lousy. (Skyrim may have more options, but more options in a lousy combat system is still lousy.) Only game I'm really looking forward to is Serious Sam 3. Uncharted 3 is on the backburner right now. Rest of "teh most anticipated holiday season evar!" has no particular appeal. Everyone can play their Skyrims and their Batmans, just got done playing Deus Ex again, working on Metroid Prime 2, played NBA Street Volume 2 with a friend last night, and played some Serious Sam: The First Encounter. I'm not as much a PC elitist asshole as I am an elitist asshole. Good games are good games no matter the platform.

Mw3 is universally agreed to be the lowest point of the franchise. Mw2 while not really following the cannon lore, provided truly groundbreaking gameplay at the time. Mw4 and its sequels picked up where mw2 had left off and took it to a new level of polish and raw entertainment, but the hardcore feeling of piloting an inhuman battle machine in online league combat would never be matched again since the days of Netmech.

A lot of the new multi-player online games seem to me to be copping out on developing good AI's. But I appreciate the offer.

farking orgin. I love BFBC2 on PC but play it on steam. Haven't bought BF3 yet...I absolutely refuse to get in on orgin. From what I've heard, the EA servers are horrible, anyway. I know there's rumblings that eventually BF3 will be available on steam, but until then I'll stick with BC2.
