My sister in law cooked a turducken a couple of years ago. Smelled like burning garbage, apparently, and was in

And yeah, holy cow do I not get the turducken thing. Or the deep fried turkey thing. I think the pilgrims may have been a little horrified by these food developments.

However? Nobody ever thinks to put a candy bar inside a brownie, no. But I'm sure chocolate and peanut butter in the same vehicle seemed preposterous at some point, and look where we are. Awesome. That's where.

The deep-fried turkey thing is great. Seriously. If you have the oil at the right temp, it isn't greasy - and it eliminates the primary problem with roasting a turkey, which is that the breast is done before the thigh, and it's hard to get anything that big to roast evenly anyway.

Deep frying makes for the juiciest, tenderest, tastiest turkey I've ever made.

Turduckhen? Not so much. I just, for some reason, have a problem eating anything that begins with "turd". And the ones I've seen for sale pre-prepared have such an odd assortment of ingredients that I can't imagine that any of it tastes good when all's said and done.

If you want to stuff things, make a flank steak based roulade. Yummous.

No and no. Turkey requires constant basting with butter and then with the drippings. Your turkey sounds dry.

The problem with deep-fried turkey, although delicious, is that you have nothing to make gravy. How can you have dressing and turkey and garlic mashed (real & hand mashed) potatoes without gravy? What's the damn point??
