jeff garcia is out there somewhere. i don't understand why a team like chicago wouldn't track him down and suit him up

Isn't he about 80 at this point? And not particularly good?

As a Chiefs fan, I'm thrilled. Orton could actually have a chance to keep Denver out of the playoffs and D-Bowe might actually be relevant on my fantasy team again.

Of course, in this awful AFC West, who knows...maybe the Chiefs have a shot yet.

The Texans actually did work him out, but went with Kellen Clemens instead.

Think about that for a moment.

Hoepfully McCown will never enter a game.

Dammit Orton, now I have to root against the Broncos in week 17.

This will be rich. Just remember this is the same Orton that failed to win games with Denver when they still had Lloyd, Knowshon, and McGahee. Oh he might throw a few good passes here and there, but game losing sacks, fumbles, misreads and interceptions are his main strength.

It's going to be fun when we head into Soldier and Chicago fans are super pumped up because we stole Kyle Orton from them.

Kyle. Orton.

I also understand that Jeff George is still looking to make a comeback.

It's because Jeff Garcia is bad.

He was okay in San Francisco when he was throwing to an in-his-prime T.O. He was awful in Cleveland. Awful in Detroit. He was pretty good in Philly... which is considered probably the easiest system to play QB in the NFL. He was okay in Tampa, running pretty much the same system. He was passed up in favor of Bruce Gradkowski in Oakland, and in favor of Kellen Clemens in Houston.

He's a system QB if there ever was one.

This is playing with house money for the Chiefs. They have $30 million in cap space that's just being wasted. The fanbase has already written off the remaining games. It's pointless to put Ricky Stanzi in with the team decimated by injuries. You get Orton for a few games at 1/30th the price of Matt Cassel and maybe he gets inspired to knock off the Broncos or, god willing, the Bears. No brainer.

Dude, we can totally play up a facial hair rivalry.

The Neckbeard vs The Hanie 'Stache

I sense an epic showdown.

The Bears saved quite a bit of money on the transaction. They were willing to pick up the $2.58 million due to Orton. But instead they will pay just under $300,000 to McCown for the rest of this season.

I sure as hell hope they spend the change on Matt Forte.

NoShow Moreno? Even hardcore UGA fans will tell you that he's not an asset.

OMG they devised a system. Next you will be telling me there is a full book of plays instead of everyone doing what they want once the ball is snapped.

Orton still has to beat out Palko for the job.

Sure, it's easy to be named the opening day starter when your competition couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. Now he just has to beat out Palko, an undrafted schlub who has been cut by a UFL team in the past. That's much stiffer competition.
