Technically, this is "Alice's Restaurant: The Massacree Revisited," a 1997 re-recording. It's better in some ways than the 1967 original - the Nixon story is new and funny - but the segue to the draft board part is clunky, given the times.

90.7 FM KSER in Everett at 2:00 PM is broadcasting the full performance, not the edited one that is on record or CD. If I remember correctly, it is about 6 minutes longer. It will be streaming on their web site.

KMTT (Seattle) airs it every Turkey Day at noon. It just finished.

Yay! A full version of Alice's Resturant and WKRP. My Thanksgiving is complete. Back when I lived in Phillly before Clear Channel took over all the radio stations the classic rock station would always play this every year right before dinner. It was a family staple.

Thanks Subby.

I don't know why, but I just don't have the patience to listen to this song any other day than today. Which is odd, because I like it.

\and fark Adam Sandler, I ain't listening to that shiatty song anymore

This is not the version everyone knows and loves.

Why was his name on an envelope on the bottom of a pile of Alice's garbage?

Kid? We don't like your kind.

So this afternoon I pull up to my sisters house, but this was playing so I sat in my car for the 10or so minutes left. After about 5 minutes I realized my brother was sitting in his car doing the same thing. Just struck me as funny. I know, CSS.

2011-11-25 11:56:19 AM
What was that? The new-age, douchey version?

2011-11-25 02:18:09 PM
Growing up, it was tradition to listen to this on WNYC at noon. When I moved out of that area down south, I downloaded it onto my phone and would always play it at the same time. One of the few holiday traditions I have. :)

...except I forgot it this year. Whoops.

"Officer, I can not tell a lie. I put that envelope underneath that pile of garbage."
